Ya know, maybe I just have to warm up to the whole idea of this new show, and I won't totally judge till I see it, but there's something about the art and description...

Well first of all, Mickey and his friends are not wearing their classic outfits, and the dancers' outfits won't blend with the castle colors. Sure, that's fine and I like the festiveness, so that'll be a neat change, maybe.

But I didn't hear or see Cinderella anywhere in the art or description, which is immensely concerning. I don't know how I feel about Maleficent and the classic princesses seemingly not being in this new one. They've been popular parts of the park for decades, it's not like suddenly they're irrelevant and need to be replaced. Oh well though, I understand the desire to have newer characters in there too. But Cinderella... it's her castle, after all. You can't just not have Cinderella in the show. Or you can, and that won't fly well with me, and may confuse people as to why she was not invited to a party at her own home.

My main concern is that the show won't have any story. Any plot. It sounds like Mickey is just going to find a lot of his friends and they're going to have a happy time. Something tells me that Disney wouldn't do a Maleficent scene like that again, it's too scaaaary. Well actually, that's what made the show, but after watching that horrible Star Wars thing today, I don't know if the imagineering team still understands that.

Also, Disney seems to be even further getting rid of their infusion of words around the millennium, such as dream, celebrate, wish, etc. And I have a warm place in my heart for those. Why, I don't know, I just do.

I actually very much liked the Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It! parade, and had high hopes for the ...Dance and Play It! change, but I don't like new one nearly as much. I fear the same will happen here.

Hoping for the best, but I see a lot of bad signs, or signs that I do not like.

Cinderella hasn't always been in the castle shows, the shows they used to do prior to Cinderella's Surprise Celebration didn't really include her. I think it's too hard to judge a show based off the brief description provided. I imagine Dream Along With Mickey coming off as pretty fluffy when you give it a couple sentence summary. Not every show has to have a villain takeover, Celebrate the Season, Mickey and the Magical Map, Hocus Pocus, and many other shows seem to work fine without a major "a villain comes to takeover the party". Trust me I get your concern, but for every Star Wars a Galaxy Far Far Away stage show, there's also a Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular. So don't worry quite yet!

There were a lot of overly dramatic young adults in attendance yesterday. I mean, yes this was a cute/fun show, but there's no need to act like its the end of world. Not even the former performers of the show, and yes there were some in attendance, were that distraught.
Says the guy who will cry a full fledged waterfall the night IllumiNations is performed for the last time ;)
On that night.....I will join you in tears. Will be a dark day.

Well auditions are still going on for a few more weeks for dancers and whatnot. Then a few weeks to rehearse it and whatnot. I wouldn't say it's a cut but maybe poor planning.

The show has been scheduled to open on June 17 for quite some time. Whether that holds or not is of course up for grabs, but as far as I know the rehearsal schedules have been made for many weeks.

The release of the Balloons at the end was something! Whether it was just some guests doing it or it was planned(Which I kind of hope it was because it would show that Disney hasn't lost their history!) It was a nice nod to MK's past Castle Shows that are a LOT older than DAWM! Would be nice to see those return in some way for MRFF! Doves would be nicer. SeaWorld does it for O Wondrous Night, inside even! I still can't figure out how that works! (Never saw it in person, only saw it on YT)
When I watched on Periscope, they were saying they were handing out balloons. So yes TDO did organise that part. Plus I love how people were singing along to the soundtrack - and the performers, when Maleficent arrives, you can see them enjoy and exaggerate everything.
