Photo update as of Sunday, April 10. The castle stage refurbishment is a complete re-do. The plywood covering has been removed revealing this framework supporting (red) tubes for fluid circulation over the entire stage....who knew the stage was either heated or cooled? Anyone?

The plywood in the left background covers the hole in the stage for the lift mechanism.

Awesome. Even though it's just framework currently. The castle stage looks the best it has in years without those absolutely ugly looking arches.

Imagineering doesn't do Entertainment stuff in Florida. They're separated as opposed to DL where it's all combined.
So stupid. This explains a lot about the Florida entertainment being so blasphemous. The imagineers or people like Steve Davisson (I forget what his division is called exactly) should control the parks entirely from a creative stand point.

Imagineering Creative Entertainment is in charge of major entertainment at all resorts worldwide - parades, spectaculars, big stage shows (of which Florida hasn't gotten since Nemo). Smaller shows, like castle shows, are created at each resort for both DLR & WDW.

Thanks for the clarification. As far as smaller shows go, they need to get people from DL asap. Over there, its just things like the Main Street philharmonic that add to the atmosphere and don't take away from it. If you ask me, the only good exclusive smaller show that they have in Florida is the Main Street Trolley Show.

If anyone here is a cast member with access to where the arches are being kept, please set them on fire. Thank you.
Oh yes, those are SO BAD!! They're so bad they even provide Wishes and Castle Shows with Strobe lights!

Anyhow, with the stage torn up(BTW, I don't think I've seen this in my lifetime. When was the last time this was done? Tencennial?), anyone know if they're adding new tricks to the stage? Like new pyro/fire launches or really wishful thinking here, Fountains?

I would agree, except for the Hocus Pocus show, which was created by WDW's team and is the best park show at any resort in years IMO.

Nice sarcasm, but the strobes look cheesy IMO. Also, I think the last time the stage was done over was when they actually put the arches on the stage. I'm not sure if they tore up the floor though. The last time the stage itself was refurbished to any extent was actually last fall, including the arches. Which is why it would be really if they're just being refurbished right now and not going away entirely.

Interesting, I should look that up. I also thought Elsa freezing the castle was a smart change too. But not counting seasonal shows, its a long series of flops.

Noooooo. They might make a good photo op somewhere. I think they would look great along the new exit path behind MSUSA. Or maybe to frame the MK from the wedding pavilion.Something like that.

Yep, I wouldn't have commented on destroying them if I never saw the concept art before hand. I would've assumed that they were finally gone forever.
The concept art could've just used them because they were already there and the art was more meant to show off the characters. I wouldn't bet on it, but it's certainly not out of the ordinary for concept art to be different from the final product.

Exactly, they also could've been cut from the budget.
