Just because a show has been open several years doesn't necessarily mean it should be replaced...

This would be great in WDW... on a rather busy night at closing time, my parents had to exit with a huge crowd behind Main Street through the employee parking lot between Main St. and Tomorrowland, they said it was less than magical

I think this is definitely going to help traffic flow and this is great that the castle will be open to the public, but It will not directly effect me while entering the park because I always go down Main Street and make a left turn to Adventureland, but while exiting the park I might use the castle.

Haha, us too. My family and I are creatures of habbit. Heaven forbid we go a different way!

Having visited the Magic Kingdom frequently since it opened, I have always been disappointed to see the murals in the castle breezeway not available for viewing by the public. First they covered the murals on the right as you entered the castle from Main Street, so that they could have a place to mount the forecourt shows. Then the finally stopped all traffic a few years later. I'm sure Walt would never have permitted this to happen. The work which went into these murals is truly spectacular.
Why the people responsible for mounting these shows cannot find another way to get the cast into costume and access to the stage in another manner I cannot understand. With todays technology they should be able to access the stage from its underside and fully open the breezeway within the castle. After all - the castle and main street are the second floor of the Magic Kingdom.

I agree, I think there could be a way to access the stage without using the castle as their "offstage" retreat. I can't remember what the utilidor map looks like, its been a few years since I did the keys to the kingdom tour

I never thought of this but when I was younger I thought it was so cool to walk through the castle. I don't go very often but the last few times I remember not being able to go. I am really sad for the kids that see this huge, regal, castle and they cannot go in it. Heck even full grown first timers don't know what it was like.

Entertainment gets WHATEVER they want, while other cast members have to fight through unions just to get fair treatment. No further comment.

There is simply no other space that allows for the cast to change and break in... This is the way the castle was designed and there really is no way around it.

Well that couldn't be further from the truth. I'm sure you'd have another point of view if you were actually in the department.

People are always disappointed that they can't go up into the castle. Heard so much of it that I now tell newbies, before we leave for the park, lol, "You can't go into the castle. You can just walk through a small hall-tunnel." I remind them once or twice before we are upon it. But at least they see the murals. I never thought about how people who show up late see nothing!

Wish they'd go back to a good show on the castle stage. My favorite was during the late 90s one. These new, dopey, pre-school ones are fairly lame for everyone who isn't about five years old.

There is no way to access the stage from underneath out front (even the techs have to access underneath from the doors in front of the stage)

I think that's an unfair statement

Wasnt the dream suite used for some of that prior to conversion? Or were the older shows just not in need of that much room?

I seem to recall a peeping tom in the castle year and years ago...

I've never heard of the use of that area for entertainment... I'm pretty sure it was always vacant until the dream suite. Plus, the castle stage green room has been there forever...

Then how about we just get rid of Dream Along With Mickey all together? I'm pretty sure the general consensus is that we would rather be able to enjoy the castle as it was intended, instead of being restricted by a stage show that has outlived itself.

Again, not quite. You really should see the thousands of guests who enjoy and really get into watching each and every show.

I agree. DAWM is a really enjoyable show, IMO. And besides, why fix something that really isn't broken. I've seen it so many times and it always draws a crowd, though I'd imagine anything on the stage would eventually draw a crowd.

I've never seen DAWM, but does it have to take place in front of the Castle in Magic Kingdom?

Is it good enough of a show to replace VOTLM at DHS, for example?
