New BGM for Main St

I noticed Maple Leaf Rag when I was in Town Square and that has been part of the BGM for Town Square Theater since opening, but not anything else. So we may indeed have the Disneyland loop now. In addition, the entrance BGM at the turnstiles was playing 'Friend Like Me' today which is new.

are you sure that's new? I'm going to have to listen to the loop now to confirm. :)

As long as "Fortuosity" is still part of the loop I'm happy. Long live the Sherman brothers!

Although, I remember when I first heard the song on the WDW CD and thought, hmm that sounds an awful lot like "One Little Spark." Many of the same chords and rhythms.

The "Summer Magic Medley" (Fortousity/Flitterin'/Summer Magic/I Could Love a Million Girls) was removed a few years ago.

Having listened to both the new DL Main Street loop as well as the previous one, I have to admit that I'm partial to the 1992 loop, particularly the "Put on Your Sunday Clothes" track and "Oklahoma Medley". Nothing says "Main Street" like this loop, twinkle lights, Coca-Cola, and a box of popcorn on a summer night.

The Summer Magic medley was not removed from the 1992 Magic Kingdom loop and was just playing the other night as a matter of fact..

I haven't heard the summer magic medley in years, that's cool if it's still playing.
I can confirm that it is the DLR loop. It started this morning (Monday, 9/17) - and it sounds and feels GREAT. Also a lot of fun to hear kids tell their parents "MOM, THAT SONG IS FROM UP!"
Hmm. I have to hear this in person to get used to it...but now I need to track down a source recording or an induction recording. TIME TO GET LOOKIN'!!!

The old loop seemed to have a disproportionate number of songs from "The Music Man". A little more variety may be nice.

Perhaps the Summer Magic Medley is (was) back. But I know for a fact that there was a period of time (within the last few years) in which the medley was cut from the loop.

Fortousity is from The Happiest Millionaire (as is Let's Have a Drink On It, which is also in the loop).

My mistake, substitute "Fortuousity" for "Beautiful Beulah".

I downloaded the live version to compare to the current loop...the songs are all either new to the loop or different recordings/arrangements of songs that were there before. I like the loop, but I certainly will miss the likes of "Triplets," "Symphonic Nightmare," "The Junkman Rag" "Winter Garden Rag" and "Smiles." To think I spent years trying to track down the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra's versions of these tunes, and now they aren't even playing anymore. Oh well, life goes on. RIP P.R.O. arrangements in WDW!

On a happier note, I am very glad to hear "Goodbye My Coney Island Baby," "Old Timer's Waltz Medley" and "Oh You Drummer" are still there. :)

Do they still say during the entrance song, "The Castle leads the entry way, to seven lands and more..."?
Last I checked (August) they still said "seven." This means they are either:
A. Too lazy to change it
B. Too Stupid to realize
C. Considering "Storybook Circus" a land
D. Apes that really don't speak any language, and aren't really very nice compared to humans

You can get them off itunes along with the rest of the source albums they come from. Look for "On the boardwalk" and "The Whistler and His Dog".
