Another sarcastic post about strobe lights and TDO that you don't really believe?I heard they are going to have a SPIRITed and MAGICal new meet and greet featuring strobe lights, but it's just to increase capacity and it's being forced on tdo by burbank under punishment of death. Just wanted to save someone the trouble.
Have you not noticed Disney is starting to reel specifics in a tiny bit. They have stuck their foot in their mouth so many times, FLE then FLE-revised; Wharf-No Wharf; Flamingo Crossing-No Crossing; Avatar-who the heck knows; What's Next-went quickly silent. Learning curve.I always feel like I am missing something on threads like this...but if someone is going to talk about "rumors floating around", then why not say what those rumors are?
As in..."I heard that TDO is looking at building XXXXXXXXXXX at Animal Kingdom and the rumor is that it will include XXXXXXXX and XXXXXXXX. I have seen this rumor posted on several competing sites and my bus driver and monorail conductor told me this rumor on my last trip to WDW last week".
Is anyone else getting the feeling that Disney is trying to keep fan interest by dropping rumors like these - only for nothing to be announced or done? It's a sad state of affairs. You can only leak out so many rumors for so long before people switch from interested to frustrated...
What is also a bit coy is what rumors and truths are shared with which insiders. And it can be a little like Apple, one project team doesn't have any idea what the other project team is imagineering. Me, I'm in the frustrated category now.
I agree. We are all being taken for a ride, if you ask me. As the days continue to pass - I grow less optimistic that Carsland, Avatar, or any of the other rumored projects will be happening. With a company that now looks to the next immediate quarter's profits to gauge their success - why should we actually believe they are planning all of these major projects? Better to hike all food up 3% every quarter, continue raising ticket prices once (or twice) a year, and blow ridiculously lame and embarassing promotions out of proportion to try and prove they are doing their best.
Which sounds to me like they are waiting to see the financial performance of Star Wars Episode VII.And before someone says its not coming stateside, it won't be for 5 years then you'll see a massive lucasfilm project
I don't get my info from bus/monorail drivers. I didn't read this or hear this from another site either. I think there are several possible things in the pipeline for DAK. What I am asking is, if any of the insiders have heard recent rumblings about something new.
Patricia, you might find my series about the development of AK of interest. There's six or seven parts at this point in time. Here's part one. (Just corrected the link.)
That's what I'm hearingWhich sounds to me like they are waiting to see the financial performance of Star Wars Episode VII.
How screwed up is a company that they will fork over $4 billion for Star Wars and then still have to test its continued relevance? That's what I'm hearing
Which to me seems ridiculous. Disney throws a lot of big budget films out there, some that completely flop (John Carter, Mars Needs Moms, etc), but Star Wars is a franchise that will absolutely NOT flop under any circumstances. With the fan base it has, it's almost impossible. Why not start building something now, so they have something done around the time of the new movies? That's what I'm hearing

Not so much the franchises relevance but the new film. What if Disney developed something based around the new film and its about as popular as the prequels, that's the hesitation I'm hearing. Not a hesitation on the franchise but a hesitation on the chance that the new films characters could have issues. The new films are a risk, Disney has to go back and change the association of star wars from the prequels to something new and freshHow screwed up is a company that they will fork over $4 billion for Star Wars and then still have to test its continued relevance?
There are numerous rumors right now but nothing concrete. If avatar dies, the closer you get to the death knoll the louder the rumors will get. Rohdes has 2/3 projects that I have heard he'd love to tackle if given the chance. For the parks I hear right now cars is the top priority followed by avatar and star wars. And before someone says its not coming stateside, it won't be for 5 years then you'll see a massive lucasfilm project
I couldn't agree more. Pandas would be the ideal animal as no other theme park in central florida has them. The closest you can get is Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa.Know what would be awesome? More Animals.
Seriously, they're down to 5 tigers now and the girls they have are 15 years old.
Cool animals like Pandas or Penguins or something else that could be a headliner attraction, none of this zebra stuff. Unless you're mixing zebras and cheetahs....
Given that Disney has a working relationship with the Chinese government, I really think they should fight hard for a Panda. Set up a real elaborate habitat of the quality of the Tigers at Maharajah back at Rafiki's Planet Watch. Make it a real draw, a reason to take that train (give the train riders something to look at.) Then start the breeding program backstage, and let guests see some of how care for Pandas works.Cool animals like Pandas or Penguins or something else that could be a headliner attraction, none of this zebra stuff.
