ok so instead of reading through 14 pages of nonsense, there is a plan B or C or whatever in case Avatar doesn't happen, and that plan is a lion habitat/walk through... Or did I miss something?

I have never understood why they never built an area dedicated to the Lion King...that movie's more lasting than Avatar in my opinion.

My opinion is that the reason they want Movies like Avatar, Indiana Jones and Star Wars in the parks is because they want to attract people to the parks that may not be big Disney fans. why would they build a big Lion King attraction when they are already getting Disney fans into the Park. Its not about what we want to see, its about what can Make Disney more money.
I would love to see a Lion King ride.

dark ride, festival of the lion king, timon and pumbaa type jungle cruise w/ comedy, and a thrill ride in the elephant graveyard. voila
I actually think that's a pretty darn cool idea to be honest. Not sure what they'd do with a thrill ride at the elephant graveyard though. I mean I'd imagine they'd probably make it some sort of coaster, but i've got my heart set on the Excavator over by the Boneyard and i'm not sure how such similar styles of rides would factor in.

Then again, Magic Kingdom is now going to have TWO Mine train coasters in the same park. So what do I know?

Regarding The Lion King, there are already attractions themed to that franchise -- FOTLK at DAK and Circle of Life at Epcot. There's also Rafiki's Planet Watch, which has some nominal The Lion King presence. Now, I love The Lion King and would be thrilled to see a ride themed to the movie, but it's not exactly an underrepesented franchise. When talking about movies that are missing from the parks, other ones like Jungle Book and Bambi stick out in my mind as appropriate for DAK. And I certainly wouldn't want multiple Lion King attractions added, not while other worthy franchises have nothing.

If The Lion King were to get a ride, though, I wouldn't want to see a plain "retell the story of the movie dark ride" since FOTLK already does that and is a fantastic show. It would be redundant to have a similar ride in the same park.
