Since the celebration is lasting for 18 months, it will be open during the celebration, just not until late in the celebration. ;)

Well you could say that it's "slated" to open by the end of the celebration  There shouldn't be too many problems, but ever since Test Track I have always been leary of open dates.

While I think that the Tree of Life will always be the "Icon" for AK, If EE is a hit and I don't see why it wouldn't be, I'd expect it to show up like it does for the HCoE tickets. I like it.

It's plain silly to suggest Disney won't change a park's emblem/icon/symbol.

After all, Magic Kingdom used to use some obscure castle, but switched to a universally loved smelly little alien.

1) A little.
3) Because you don't want to make something bigger than the "centerpiece" of your park. Bad marketing. I've yet to see a shot that includes both the tree of life and EE in one shot, so I can't see how well forced perspective is being used in this case. Or how low Everest is built down. Remember, Cindy's castle isn't the tallest thing at MK. Sure looks like it though, doesn't it?

That's just dumb

First of all the Tree of Life will ALWAYS be AK's central icon, even if Everest is in the logo, point is, the Tree of Life is STILL there!!!

And what kind of moron should you be to think that a Tree should be taller
than freakin Mountain?

the most possible reason that Everest is in the logo is because they are planning to have it as AK's "main attraction" like The Tower of Terror was for MGM and Space Mountain for DLP. The mountain being in the logo is just a way to advertise it.

The logo is obviously temporary since they have to advertise something for AK during the celebration and since Everest doesn't show up till the latter half of the celebration, there's no need to blurt out that "We Have Everest".

Thrawn-----> sorry about all the semi-foul language, I just needed it for dramatic effect :D I actually respect you a lot. :)

Well, it certainly doesn't seem likely.

All Disney parks have one easily-defined icon for their logo. At DMGM they built a new one and switched over to that, but no-one's suggesting that this is what Disney is planning for Everest. The central icon in the park is the tree and this has provided a strong emblem for the park which, with the animals trailing underneath, visually encapsulates the idea of the park pretty succinctly. Adding a new attraction to the logo (something Disney has never done, as has been pointed out) unecessarily complicates it and if anything robs the logo of its current clarity. They just basically want a simple silhouette which is easily identified with the park.

They've done the same thing for new attractions at all of the parks as part of the latest marketing push, so I think people are reading quite a bit too much into thus.

The reason it appears in the emblem for HCOE is because it is the new thing to open at AK during the celebration. I think everyone is reading too much into it.

And, again, there is a castle not far away thats taller than 3 mountains.

The ToL is still more outstanding on the banner than the shadow of a mountain. The park logo may change, however, the actual "icon" will continue to remain as the ToL, on merchandise, advertising, and so on. The fact that the outline of a mountain is there simply reminds guests how much more the park has to offer.

It's a different situation when a "mountain" is being subtly promoted to "rescue" the theme park. That's why it's on the logo, and since both the Tree and the mountain are going to appear together on the logo, it should only make sense that the mountain is way bigger than the tree.

If they ever release plans for Beastlie Kingdomme, you can expect the logo to change back to the original (which coincidentally has the Dragon in the middle).

Yeah, but they aren't advertising EE on these banners. I mean just look at the new park passes. Each of the three other parks has the new ride on it and it says that ride (Soarin, LMA, Cinderellabration). The park pass with AK on it, however, has this logo on it and it just says Animal Kingdom. Look at this thread for what I'm talking about.

I was just about to say almost the same thing. The "logos" for the first three parks advertise their repsective new attractions that are open for the HCoE. But since AK's EE isn't open yet, they have no real picture to show for it, so the silhouette of Everest is behind the actual AK logo, appearing as something looming in the near future.

And BTW, I think the silhouette of Everest behind the Tree looks really cool, but I wouldn't consider it a new logo, just advertising.

I agree. And very good looking marketing at that!
