New AK logo comming soon

Talking to a AK cm (so take it on face value) she was telling me they have a new AK logo that should be rolling out soon. She said she saw a concept of it and it will have both Expedition EVEREST and the Tree of Life on it. So I can only guess it will have the Tree in the forground and the mountian in the background. So it looks like now is the time to get all the old logo stuff.

hmm would kind of make sense, since the animals on teh current logo are not all in teh park .

i was about to say, they could do another since i dont recall seeing a dragon anywhere. oh wait, that was that boat thing and the cave................. yeh, didnt work out so well. not so much. so now they dragon looks kind of out of place.

it will be interesting to see what they come up with, being a graphic designer and all. i wish i could do the new one.

Yeah he was BK. It was funny I was showing some people that have been to WDW a "million times" the Dragon cave and dragon rock when we noticed what looks to be a trools house right under the bridge. But anyway as we were walking along our Pal Mickey goes off telling us about Dragon Rock....go figure?!?!?

I think they were supposed to have a fanatasy part to the park, but those of course got flushed somewhere out to sea.

oh yeh, i mirror what the others have said, it was for BK (not BurgerKing) but it is now somewhere between "backburner" and "aint gonna happen".

not that i pretend to know any inside stuff, just repeating what our pals on the site have said before.

i never got to ride the boat attraction, either in 98 and 00, it wasnt running or we looked at it and said nicely, "ok, on to the next attraction".

I was wondering if the Mountain would tower over the Tree. It makes since adding both to the logo.

The mountain is VERY visible from outside of the park. I remember driving by last month and being completely shocked at how much was visible, and the thing is just the frame right now, its going to look very cool when its done.

In the next couple of days I will get all my pics uploaded and roll out some great pics I got of both the Tree and E:E which I am sure will be the big photo spot in a few years. But yes it will tower over the tree, the Tree of Life is 14 stories tall (about 140 feet) where E:E will be 199 feet. Which will make it a tie for the tallest structure on WDW property....well not counting the Hand of Doom over at E.P.C.O.T. (since that is only a temp thing ha ha ha)

The assortment of current, exitinct and fantasy animals were to represent that the park would deal with animals that are, animals that were and animals that never existed. The latter represented by the dragon.

It's just cute and to me it signifys reality with fantsy. But out with the old and in with the new!! =)

well even though elephants are one of my favorite wild animals...................... i bet that tiger in the logo will be glad when he doesnt have to sniff that elephants butt anymore. :lol:

I really liked the version of the tree that is on the trash cans and some other places around the park. The one with animal shapes hidden in the leaves and amongst the branches.

Does anyone have a picture of this Dragon? I got to ride the boats on my first visit to AK, (1999ish) and the beastie had already moved on. Is it true they moved it to Disney Seas?

I remember back in the day where Disney was announcing its "WILD ANIMAL KINGDOM. . . " (Gotta love the dragons!)

It will be curious to see the new design. Hopefully it won't be TOO detailed - that is if it should be placed next to Cinderella castle, Spaceship Earth, and the Sorcerer's Hat (should be Earful Tower ) on various napkins and pattern designs. . .
