Never mind

Do you remember which channel had the Europa Park walkthrough? I'd love to see that!

And I totally agree about Coaster Studios, especially in the more documentary-focused videos he’s done lately. I really want to see his RMC documentary feature “How We Roll” if it ever comes to a platform I have access to. I think he’s got a strong filmmaking career in his future.

Oh, believe me, I watch YouTube more than traditional TV, including things like Abroad in Japan (An Englishman’s view of his day to day life in Japan) and SuperCarlinBrothers (insanely deep dives into Potterverse and Pixar theories). And of course, several good theme park channels.

I love the slice-of-life, quiet walk-around videos from channels such as you mentioned. Someone recently posted a non-narrated long leisurely walk around Europa Park. Beautifully filmed. It’s the most relaxing thing I’ve ever seen. :D

I do think Disney’s going to Inevitably crack down on their daily parasi— I mean, vloggers. For many reasons. It will most likely be spurred by some vlogger going too far and really doing something ultra-obnoxious, but it will come down to these points:

1) Disney loves money, and will probably be unable to resist charging a fee to “professionals” who frequent their parks. While these vloggers get lots of views, it’s a drop in the bucket for Disney; 99 percent of Disney park tourists have never watched any of them. And nearly everyone watching are the people who go to the parks anyway. The vloggers are not expanding Disney’s fanbase.
2) Disney likes to control their PR.
While I don't disagree that Disney may do something in the future, I don't think they will ever outright ban Vlogging/Live Streaming. Too many eyeballs watching in my opinion. Remember that PR, you try to shutdown the beast now you're going to get push back. Maybe a charge like was mentioned or maybe some more "rules".

As for the 99% of visitors having never watched, we're talking about purely Disneyland here not all Disney Parks. Remember to Disneyland visitors these Vloggers are like local celebrities. So I would imagine that there is at least 5-10% (if not more) of all visitor of the Disneyland that watch Disneyland Vloggers.

On your point of Disney liking to control their PR, I agree. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney ends up creating their own Vlogging channel, maybe even hiring one of the more popular Vloggers to run it. I'm actually kinda surprised they haven't already. I had thought the "remotes" that Dusty had done from inside Disneyland when Magic Happens debuted was leading in that direction. I have a feeling this is something that is going to happen and it'll end up on D+, Chapek sort of already mentioned it when talking about virtual park visits.

Europa's entrance, especially with its Monorail, gives me Walt Disney's EPCOT vibes. Obviously Eurostat doesn't help distance itself from Epcot comparisons.

They already have their own official Disney Parks podcast series.

I'm sure that they've done a few (or will soon do) their own vlogs. It's practically the next step!

The Disney Parks Youtube channel hasn't leaned too far into the Vlogging genre yet, short of some celebrities talking about their experience inside the Parks.

So yeah I think it'll happen eventually. Also as I mentioned I suspect they'll move it into D+ with some virtual park and ride experiences.

Additionally, notifications/flags that direct your attention to threads can be turned off.

That way you can be spared from, say, the inevitable derailment on page 87 of the Pinocchio thread when we've so thoroughly lost the plot that we are inexplicably but passionately discoursing about safety robots at Costco, and whether or not one of them looks like Prue from Great British Bake-Off.

1000 points for mentioning Prue!

It’s EVERYBODY’s thread now! Bwahahaha!😀
Seriously, though, we love anything that gets a conversation started, and—though I wasn’t here to read your original post—it seems to have spurred a discussion about a very interesting aspect of today’s Disney parks. That’s a good thing!
I honestly love threads like this occurring every once in a while. Creates better entertainment compared to what ever modern WDI is up to nowadays.

Speaking of Disney and YouTube, I remember seeing a video from if the parks' official YT channels where various audio antimatronics from other Disney attractions interacted with eachother. I swear this is real, but forgot the videos name.

That's silly. Why would anyone build a theme park about Europe inside Europe? That would be like someone building a theme park about California in California...

Oh, wait....

I think you are right. By allowing others to speak for their brand it becomes concerning.

I'd say a few years ago they didn't mind as most the youtubers were team Disney. Yet now many are openly against Disney's policies and management.

Some have had controversies as well from what I've read.

It's only a matter of time. It isn't providing any benefit to them at this point.
