Im sure this is for the Living Seas. Maybe we will finally see the return of Mickey (or some other character) in the tank.

I just saw Mickey in the tank in September or December (don't remember which) - has he not been in lately?

I've travelled to Florida once or twice every year for the last 14 years, I've been to Epcot every time and I have never seen DIving Mickey, I thought it was just something they brought out when shooting promotional videos like water skiing goofy or a character on a waterslide at TL.

I saw a diving Mickey during 2000, and my wife and I were just imagining how scary it must be inside of that costume. What if something went wrong? Visibility is bad enough underwater, but in a Mickey suit too? That takes some courage I say.

ahhh, somehow diving mickey doesnt fit as well with the new nemo theme to me... thats cool though... i have never once seen any of the characters in TLS but I seem to remember seeing a video of mickey diving underwater... It would be great if they could incorporate that as an everyday occurance at the seas

Looking at the height requirements and the fact that they are being referred to as Character Performers, I feel it would have to be Mickey and friends diving. Perhaps they are looking at a greater frequency with the reopening of the newly themed areas. I can't see them trying to do any Nemo characters. Size and propulsion would be problematic.

It has been very very rare.

I guess I was lucky seeing Mickey diving in the tank when I went to eat at the Coral Reef in July. Of course though our camera just had to break the previous day, therefore no picture. Pretty bummed though to know that it's very very rare =/

To have height requirements that short, it might be part of the Nemo show. What ever it is, it sounds like it is somehow entertainment related since there is a height requirement.

good thinking! maybe with all the added crowds in the living seas due to nemo and re-opening of sea cabs, they will "plus" it, with some diving characters! one can hope :)

This is most likely for stuff at the LivingSeas.

I've been diving with Mickey. Last August during DiveQuest he was in the tank with us. I was told that it was the first time that anyone could remember Mickey being in the water during DiveQuest. Also, it's pretty rare to see Mickey in the tank.

In this instance, Mickey was in the water by special request ($'s payed) for a private function in the VIP lounge. I was told how much it was for Mickey to do this, not cheap.

With the addition of the Nemo ride - they might be expecting the Living Seas VIP lounge to become very popular too. Also, they'll probably have Mickey in there for press events and grand opening stuff. The Living Seas used to have a much larger cast of divers and performers in the tanks.

They even had divers pretending to be looking at the rubble of a shipwreck down there.
