NEED YOUR ADVICE...

We are going to Disney for 3 Days (MK, EP, Keys to the Kingdom tour), we will be planning our fastpass+ and adding it to MyDisneyExperience. We are NOT staying on property. Do you think that buying MagicBands would be a good idea to replace our tickets or not!?
I have never used fastpass+ YET and I am leaning towards just using the RFID tickets instead of spending $12.95 for rubber braclets that we will never use again after our trip! IF we were staying on property and linking a credit card to it etc... I could see the point.

What are your thoughts?

Absolutely no need to spend the money on the bands, unless you really want them for the convenience of not having to get a ticket out of your wallet/purse each time you need it. As long as you have RFID tickets, you'll be fine.

I don't care for the bands and the last couple of trips I kept them in my pocket and took it out when needed, but never wore it. Just my personal preference. If I could have a card instead, I would never carry the stupid band in my pocket.

Unless you fall in love with one of the limited edition/release magic bands, I wouldn't fork over the $12.95 just to buy one. Your card will work just fine. If you are staying on property, the magic band is included and I believe you have to request a RFID card if you don't want the band.

Prior to my trip to WDW last year, I had bought my multi-day park ticket at a local AAA office. They didn't carry the bands. When I got to the parks, the card worked exactly the same as a band; I'd just tap the card and go; it worked fine. It was also much easier for me to just slip the card on my purse, because even if I had a band, I wouldn't actually wear it. The card is a better option for some guests.

I think you can ask for a card.

Yeah, dumb. I have talked to others who have insisted and gotten a card, so I guess I did not push it enough. No big deal though. From a customer service standpoint, if customer asked for card that does same thing as band, you would think it is a simple request and they should have them available.

I thought Disney, and I remember reading on their official blog, said they would make the cards available for those resort guests who didn't want a band. Interesting they've backed off of that. Unless you insist.
