Hi everyone - Me and DH need transportation from Orlando Amtrak in May to go to the Port. After we get off the cruise we are using ME to go the parks for a few days, but then we will need transportation from WDW back to the train station again. Anyone have any ideas? We asked Quicksilver but they informed me they do not pick up from the train. Anyone use another transport service they find reliable. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. TIA.

When i read the title i was going to suggest Quicksilver....too bad they will not be able to help you. We love using them. The name Happy Limo comes up a lot..have not used them so i cant comment on them..but i think most who use them like them. So i would check with them.

The LYNX public bus system serves both WDW and the Amtrak station. The trip might take a couple of hours but it only costs two bucks!

Follow up on need transportation ...

We have used Quicksilver and loved them but no luck. We don't want to rent a car, don't really need one while in Florida. Our real need is to get to the Port for a cruise. Cabs are way too expensive - we have tried that in the past. Too bad Amtrak doesn't have a shuttle to the Port - they have one to get to the park right at the station, or at least they did. Any other ideas. Anyone ever hear of Cocoa Beach shuttle?

Could you use a taxi to get from the Amtrak station to the airport, and then make the typical arrangements with Disney to use the DCL bus? In DCL's eyes, you'd be just like a passenger arriving and getting their own luggage from baggage claim.

Hi Rob

I actually thought of this since everyone is more than willing to pick someone up from the airport - I was not sure that Disney transport would allow this since I always thought you needed to have an airline confirmation or number or something. I really was not sure this was allowed, sort of like "cheating." I wonder if I should call Disney and see if it is something I can set up with the Magical Express even though we are not flying - I can't help but feel I am doing something wrong though.

Not at all. People do this all the time, but it's a small percentage of the overall number of Guests. DME exists to get you to/from the airport. There is no stipulation that you must be flying.

Some people do this exact thing if they're getting in late at night and decide to stay at an airport hotel rather than a Disney one. They use the hotel's shuttle to get back to the airport where they then get on DME to WDW. (Of course they can't use the yellow luggage tags if they do this)
But you may want to call the DME number directly to set this up. I know the regular CMs booking things at Central Reservations sometimes have trouble with these out-of-the-ordinary bookings. (DME's number is 866-599-0951)

It's been a few years, but Tiffany Towncar picked us up from the Amtrak station. They were extremely nice. I had forgotten a bag in the car when they dropped us off, and they brought it back within 30 minutes.

If you dont have too many bags I would use Lynx. Reliable and cheap. Do you know where you are getting off Amtrak? If you are getting off Downtown then you can just hop on the next bus to WDW. I believe the 111 is a direct route but check out golynx.com and you can use the planner to find times and routes.
Or just drop me a $100 spot and ill drive ya to and from. I have a limo style Expedition with plenty of room. :)
