Ok, with the 20 or so times I've been to WDW I've never been to one of their major sit-down restaraunts. I don't ever recall going when I was younger and have never been on my own now that I'm older because I'm more for eating on the go while at one of the parks.

Weeell, I'll be going next month for 5 days, which is the longest I would have ever been at DW, so I'll obviously have a lot more time to work with in terms of other activities, specifically actually getting dressed up and going to a restaraunt one of those nights.

I've heard of a few places, but don't know enough, so why not ask around and get an idea. So, really, I'm looking for a place where we can go, not too fancy or too pricey, but at the same time a place where we can clean up nicely and enjoy ourselves one of the nights that we're at the park. Any kind of food, anywhere on Disney property, doesn't matter. Just looking for a good time.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance, guys. :D

I need you to narrow this down a little. There are so many restaurants. Are you looking for a specific park, resort, area?. What meals are you looking for? Are you looking for dinner? Just one night?

On a side note, you want to try to figure this out quickly and call for reservations. Alot of sit down places are very hard to get into with our advanced reservations

Our favorite ones are:

California Grill (Contemporary)
Narcosseess (Grand Floridian)
Artist Point (Wilderness Lodge)
Jiko (Animal Kingdom Lodge)
Yatchsman Steak House (Yatch Club)

Each has something different and special to offer.

Off the top of my head, avoiding any of the Signature Dining Experiences (which tend to be more expensive restaurants) and any character meals or buffets (with the exception of Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, which rocks like ham hocks), I'd suggest:

Raglan Road - DTD
Rose & Crown - Epcot
San Angel Inn - Epcot
Ohanas - Poly, not a buffet, but food served family-style and all-you-can-eat
Spoodles - Boardwalk
Restaurant Marrakesh - Epcot
Turf Club - Saratoga Springs
Olivia's - Old Key West

All of these restaurants are "nice," and while you may see people in ripped up shorts and t-shirts & crocs, they do lend themselves more to people who like to be a little nicer-dressed for a meal. And while they're all, of course, kid-friendly (especially Ohana), they're not as loud and boisterous as a character meal or most theme-park restaurants often can be.

And I'd really recommend Boma

If you want to go a little more expensive, any of the Signature Dining Experience restaurants I'm sure would be memorable, especially Cali Grill at the Contemporary, Jiko at AKL, Yachtsman Steakhouse & YC, and Narcoosee's at GF.

My picks!

We just got back last Friday - great trip! For the first time, we too decided to do some fine dining since we had no kids with us.

One night I made reservations at Narcoosees at the Grand Floridian for 7:15. The food and service were outstanding. For fireworks we stepped outsider after dinner with a french press full of coffee and a martini and watched Magic Kingdom fireworks. Beautiful!

Stayed at Saratoga Springs. Went back twice to the Turf Club. The food is excellent, the outdoor dining overlooking the golf course was beautiful. Great menu, chef handles special requests well and the service again was outstanding.

California Grill atop the Contemporary. Always a favorite, although I think at times it's a bit loud. The food is top notch, the view during fireworks is fantastic and it's a definite must see! Tough to get reservations here for dinner - I just kept calling.

Have fun!!

The determining factor maybe more what is left available rather then where you want to go. Figure out what parks you'll be at on what days and call WDW-DINE and see what is availbe for the meal of choice. Some tips - at this late date you might want to think of dining at a resort or go at lunch rather then dinner.

My personal faves:

Epcot - Rose and Crown and Le Cell

Good Luck and have a great trip!!

Top tip: look at the menus and pick a stly of food you are after.

If you want something very Disney then try CRT or a dinner show like Hoop Dee Doo (perhaps not one to dress up for...) but my suggestions would be

California Grill
Coral Reef
Le Cellier
Boma
Artists Point

As previous posts said, it all depends on what kind of food you like. Our favorites are:

Le Cellier - EPCOT
BOMA - - AKL - a must do every trip!
Fulton Crab at DTD - for lunch - less expensive - no wait- Can't wait to get stone crabs in two weeks!
Raglan Road - Forkful of scallops and brown bread with Guiness dipping sauce!
Turf Club at SSR was good, Narcossess (sp?) at GF, Yachtsman Steak House at BC and Big River at BW.
Heard the Wave was pretty good at the Contemporary - we going to give it a try this trip.

All in all, you really can't go wrong with 99% of the restaurants. It all depends on what/where you want to eat, how much you want to spend and the atmosphere you want. Have fun!
