Need Serious Help

I am currently booked for August 5-12. I am considering switching to September 2-9. The price difference is very small. In August we already have APs (which expire on 8/12) in September we would have free dining. I know August will be more crowded but think parks are open later. The September trip would be over Labor Day weekend too and am not sure if free dining + Labor Day would mean the same type of crowd we'd see in August.

So my question is would you pick early August or early September????
Thanks

JMHO, but I would go with September. I like the smaller crowds, and the weather might be marginally cooler.

We were used to going in September each year, but the last two we had to go in July/August due to school timing and group issues. Not that August was that bad; the crowds weren't the horror show I expected them to be. The humidity was a killer though.

I think the parks feel more relaxed and intimate when the lower crowds in September. The free dining is a good perk as well.

I understand your predicament!

If I were you, I'd stick with August. You can use your annual pass and even if you have free dining, you wouldn't save a ton over all because you'd have to buy park tickets. If you're worried about crowds, it'll be crowded at both times, if you're still talking about going over Labor Day weekend.

Stick with August!

I would go with September. The weather will more than likely be better, you can get free dining, and you will avoid the dreaded Brazilian tour groups.

We went over the 2nd/3rd weeks of August last year and never saw a single tour group. I thought they were mostly there in July.

September for sure - it's statistically one of the best times to visit WDW. Free dining will save you a bundle, the weather may be slightly cooler than August, crowds will be lower even if it is Labor Day weekend. So many people are getting ready to send their kids back to school the following week.

I'm not sure about the longer park hours - but with smaller crowds you'll be able to ride more so you won't need the longer park hours, whereas you will in August.

DizneyPryncess is right. Labor Day weekend crowds aren't that bad. Free dining is great. And the weather should be a little better.

I just might have to flip a coin on this one. There are definate pros and cons for us for each trip. DH and I plan to have a long talk tonight about what we think is better. I do like the September idea, but it would mean a little more money, just $300 though.

We decided to change. Here's the math. It was going to cost us $350 more to go in September. Airfare though was $300 less in September. So the difference really ended up being $50 and we will get the free DDP. Our August trip included the Quick Service plan so for $50 more we will get 7 table service meals instead of counter service meals.

Good for you for thinking about the difference in air fare too.
