Need of some magic

I need some help. I am trying to plan a last minute surprise trip to World. When I logged on, there is not alot available. I really can't afford $4000+.

Looking at dates of Dec 10-15. I am not a DVC member, but I thought about buying some points and trying to use them. But I don't know how that would work either.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it! I really want to make this surprise happen. My husband deserves!

Thanks in advance!

Offsite?

Renting DVC points is fairly easy, look up DVCmike, or something like that. I think his site finds people willing to rent their points and arranges the rental for you. You pay the rental all up front and the DVC person makes all your reservations. Never done it myself but I know someone who rented points for a June 2011 vacation, she said it was painless.

For the time frame you want to go it seems like offsite is the better option. Good luck!

...so basically renting DVC points is like having a membership, but only paying when you need the points?

And offsite is your best option, but just to maintain the "magic" try one of the value resorts and stay onsite.

Wish you luck! :)

Well.... I dragged my feet because of work schedules, money, etc and there are no value or moderate hotels available. The contemporary has a garden suite available. (more then I can afford).

Any recommandations on any off site hotels??

I just looked on expedia for rooms checking in on the 10th and out on the 15th.

There are rooms available for those dates at Saratoga Springs in studios for $295/night and 1 bedroom villas for $400/night.

There are also rooms available at the Swan and Dolphin (Epcot area) ranging from $129/night - $199/night depending on date and view.

Both hotels (SSR and Swan/Dolphin) come with a $50 prepaid credit card for stays of 3+ nights. You get the credit card after travel is completed...

I would call WDW reservations directly. I have always been able to make better deals when dealing with a human being over the computer. They would probably have the most up-to-date information in regards to cancellations and such as well which could lead to a better deal.

You're on your own with the airlines though. :)

I see a few different options for those dates on the travel agent website. I see some rooms at All Star Movies and Saratoga Springs. I'd be happy to help if you'd like! We don't charge any fees and it's the same price as booking through Disney. Just send me an email or give me a call. :)
