Need major last minute help

Me and my mom, dad, sister, husband, and baby will be going to the world on Friday December 11th and we have no idea where we are going to stay.

Their lack of planning is a total /face palm and where we were going to originally stay fell through (Dolphin) :rolleyes:

So I need some options following this criteria-

  1. 500 dollar or less preferably
  2. 2 Nights (Dec 11, 12, checkout Dec 13)
  3. preferably on Disney property
I've been trying to find out if you can rent someone's DVC for a few nights, but I have no idea how that works. :(

So, please, I need some major help ASAP!

DVC is not going to be possible at this late date. Timeshares generally book up way, way in advance, and December is the peak time of year for DVC bookings. The villas were booked solid about 11 months ago for the dates you're going. At any time of year, it would be extremely difficult to rent from a member 10 days out from your trip.

Check Expedia and Travelocity; they get blocks of rooms to sell and sometimes have availability when Disney doesn't.

Also, check into the Downtown Disney resorts. They're not Disney-owned, but they are on property, and you can sometimes get great rates there.

I have used this website before. They do not give you the name of the hotel you are booking until you book it, but if you look in the descriptions you can figure it out by the restaurant names they list. I put in your dates and they show some rooms at All Star Sports. If you can only spend $500, that is pretty much the only place you can stay at. OKW has 2 bed villas but this website shows a rate of $571 per night. There is no way you are going to get a villa for $500 total for 2 nights.

I was thinking Swan or Dolphin but the baby needs to sleep... (ugh, babies.... kidding lol)

I'm still kinda unsure though.

BTW, I'm a Florida resident. Do any other hotels besides Swan and Dolphin discount for residents?

I think we may stay in POFQ if available

According to MouseSavers, FL residents get 37% off so that would total to 202 for 2 nights which is perfect. However, it also said there were 15 dollar fees for every adult when you have over 2 adults... so that'd mean 30 extra dollars a night... so basically 60 more dollars just because of 2 more adults.

My question is, do they really enforce that and would they have any idea there are the 2 extra adults if they don't check in with us?

Why don't you try a suite at All Star Music? Seperate bedroom, two bathrooms, a kitchenette, etc. Sounds like you would need the space and amenities (especially with the baby in tow)!

I don't think they charge extra for the extra adults in a suite!?!

Wow, that is a tough one Scar. I hope you find something that works for you and your family. I have never stayed at POFQ, but I have stayed at the Swan and absolutley loved it, even if it didn't have that over the top Disney theme. Great location. Best of luck.

If they're not listed on the reservation, they won't get a resort ID, so they won't be able to get into the parks for Extra Magic Hours. I think EMH access for 2 people for two days is well worth $60.

Well, I didn't go with POFQ.... sadly.

Becuase of the baby we went with some condo in Mystic Dunes on the main Orlando strip (you know, the tacky gift shop road.... I know.... ugh).

But I'm going to see PatF alone while they hang out at DtD, go to MK the next day, and if the place is bad then there's more of a chance we'd stay on grounds next trip... hopefully it will be :goodnevil

hotel at last minute

I know you want to try to stay on property but have you thought about the DTD area? It's chain hotels.. Hilton (they give you EMH), Best Western (we stayed there in Aug),Holiday Inn (newly redone and opened), Regal Sun (stayed there when it was grovsnor), and Double Tree. They are all located a couple of blocks from DTD (walking distance for some). They do have thier own bus service, not as nice as the resort bus service cause I think some resort busses drop you off closer to the entrance for M.K.) but It's nice not to pay for parking.

All you need for EMH is to show your room key. We were just there last week and there were 6 of us and we showed one room key that was for the Hilton at DTD.

If you're staying at a Disney-owned resort, every person on the reservation, adult or child, gets a resort ID with their name imprinted on it. (it's also a room key, and is also known as the Key to the World card). At EMH, they'll usually ask to see every person's resort ID before boarding a ride or entering an attraction. I suspect they only asked your group for one card because they don't issue cards for everyone on the reservation at the Hilton.
