OK...here's the deal. I'm PLANNING on going to WDW Jan 2-7. I need to know a couple things.
1) How are the crowds?
2) How is the weather?
3) The following is my planned schedule (if all goes well) so tell me if these are all good places to go!

Day 1 - Magic Kingdom
Breakfast - Traveling
Dinner - Contemporary Chef Mickey

Day 2 - Magic Kingdom
Breakfast - Cinderella's Royal Table
Dinner - 1900 Park Fare (Disney Villians)

Day 3 - Animal Kingdom
Breakfast - 1900 Park Fare (Mary Poppins & Friends)
Dinner - Rainforest Cafe

Day 4 - Epcot
Breakfast - Garden Grill
Dinner - LeCellier Steakhouse (Canada)

Day 5 - MGM
Breakfast - Hollywood & Vine
Dinner - Mamma Melrose's Ristorante Italiano

Day 6 - Park Hopping
Breakfast - Crystal Palace
Dinner - Traveling

4) I'm planning to stay at the Ramada Inn Resort, which is 1 mile away from the Disney maingate...is this a good place to stay? It's offering $55.95/night...
5)This is for a group of 4...I got a price of about $550/preson...I added room, admission to park, and food...did I miss something? that is very cheap compared to the $750/person price at All Star Movies...

ok...I hope my questions make sense! I'm planning to make reservations in a couple of weeks...so...PLEASE help me! I'm 15...and this trip is for me and friends, so this is all confusing to me!!! hehe! PLEASE help!
:D

The parks usually close earlier in that time
frame, so you should consider the aSM because you
can get in one and half hours earlier (~7:30 am)
that would make up for the early closing times.

just a thought.
p.s. check out the web site
www.mousesavers.com
for discounts available at that time of year,
some bargins for on site hotels!!

You'll have a blast - especially based on your dining itinerary.

A couple of things:

1. I was at WDW for the first two weeks of January last year and it was rather chilly. I was wearing gloves, scarf, etc. on New Year's Eve at Epcot. So don't just bring shorts with you when you pack.

2. I don't know what the Ramada is like. I think you can do a little better for your accomodations in terms of cost though. The Sleep Inn on the west side of the World, down 192 a couple of miles, is recently redone and offers a special rate of $39.95 if you have a coupon. That includes a continental breakfast too. It is a nice clean place to stay. There is a site online that has coupons for the Sleep Inn in order to get the good rate; I'll post later when I find the site.

3. After New Year's, the crowds did thin out a little but I was surprised how busy it was last year. But it wasn't too bad, just a little bit busier than years past at that time of year. Since volume is down now by about 7%, no doubt the crowds should be relatively light for you come January 2002.

Well, I am going down to WDW the first two weeks of 2002 so maybe I'll see you there.;)

I agree, I used mousesavers.com and got PO Riverside for $89/room. But you can also get any All star Resort for $49/room/night.

Disneyfreak4298, you seem to have a lot of breakfasts planned. Are they earlier than official park opening? Otherwise, that takes up a lot of prime touring time. I think I would only do 1 or 2, 3 max. We go frequently, so don't do any character breakfasts anymore. We do like a sit down, be waited on dinner after a long day, so I wouldn't change those. This is just my opinion, though.

I think you have way too many meals planned. According to your info, you are paying 550.00 per person. You could stay at the all star resorts, getting one room, that would be less than $100.00 split 4 ways per night. Get a park pass as a resort guest which includes everything at disney, including the water parks ( sometimes it is warm enough to swim at that time) or get a park hopper pass. Get your meals on the run in general and do a couple of sit down places during your stay, but not 2 every day. You will be spending a great deal of time at sit down restaurants and have less time for touring.

No no no you cant plan every single day out! Ya just do it by ear or eye or something......just have fun. Go to whatever park you feel like going to on that day and 1 or 2 planned nice meals are good but other than that the fod courts and stands do a good job of filling your belly. With a schedule you'll never have fun.........you'll be too busy trying to get it all in....and the meals just make it worse.

O.K. This is from the Birnbaum's Official Guide to Disney World 2001 Edition , they say that the average temperature in January is 71/49, and the average rainfall is 2.3 inches...compared to 7.2 inches in July. The crowds should be average. Hope this helps!

The only problem is that I have to have 2 rooms...not j/1...so its going to be kinda expensive...I went in March and my mom had all of the meals and everything planned out and it was better thatn any other time I had gone before when we j/took a chance...so thats why I'm doing that...

i wouldnt plan everymeal every day. i would eat at cinderellas castle for sure but every thing else i would just grab something at one of the food courts or youll be wasting a lot of time sitting instead of seeing and enjoying the whole parks and if you think you have time then go to a sit down dinner
