I am developing a Magic Kingdom style park, but I am including distinct differences as well. I would like to utilize as many original names for lands as possible, although most will at least be familiar. What I have so far are: Main Street USA (I figured an attempt at renaming this is futile), Liberty Harbour (Liberty Square), Thunder Valley (Fronteirland), Fantasy Kingdom (Fantasyland), Enchanted Forest, and Skyward City (Tomorrowland). I have an Adventureland style area, but I am unsure what to name it, and was hoping for help. This area is themed mostly to Polynesian and South American culture, and includes The Tiki Lounge (restaurant with animatronic birds and tikis), Swiss Family Tree House, The Jungle Cruise, Fire Mountain, and a walk through haunted temple attraction. Any thoughts?...

Also, any suggestions for the name of my other lands would be great.

Think of a place Indy Jones might end up:

Cape Danger

CongoPaur

Rio de Meurtos

Lone Island

Ille du Dangeroux

Peace,

Think of the name last and develop the name around the end result land.

If your main focus point of the land is a giant volcano you could use fire something, if the layout is one with a river you could name it after the river.

What is the story of the land? Whats the land's weenie? After you have that then all you need to do is think up a name for that and the rest will come pretty easily

Uhh, what is a weenie, in this context?

A "weenie" in Disney terms means what is the eye drawn to first. What are guests going to notice first about this land? If it's a large volcano looming over the rest of the land then the volcano would be the "weenie". Much like Cinderella Castle is the "weenie" of MK, SSE to Epcot, BAH  to DHS, and Tree of Life for DAK.

Walt referred to these as "weenies" because of a metaphor he used where weenies (hot dogs) were what attracted everyone to cookouts just as a large castle symbolizes MK and draws people to it (amongst other things).

Good questions. In theory, one of two attractions would be my "weenie". I will have a walk through temple attraction, and the temple would likely be of a substantial size. However, Fire Mountain would likely be the largest and most popular attraction for the area, so the volcano would probaly be my weenie.

Without really thinking about it, there is going to be a pretty big emphasis on ancient cultures and mythology, so that could play a part in the name. However, I wonder if something more general would be more appropriate rather than focusing on a specific aspect, so all of the attractions are included under the umbrella of the land's name.

And thanks to everyone for their input.
