Need Help with Fishing Excursions

Hello. My wife and I are heading down to WDW from 10/26-10/31 with her parents and mine to enjoy the Food & Wine Festival. During the trip, my father-in-law would like to go fishing. Are there any other choices besides the BASS excursion that costs $250 or is that pretty much what he is looking at? Thanks.

I don't really know specifics about fishing alternatives to the $250 BASS excursions. It seems like there are some alternatives like fishing from the bank or a dock of some sort perhaps at Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, or I also think maybe Port Orleans Riverside. I can, however, tell ya that althought the $250 excursion is a little pricey my husband and sons have gone twice and loooooove it. The guide was so great with the kids. He helped as much or as little as Dad wanted so there was plenty of father/son time without intrusion. Hubby says that they all caught fish one right after the other. He said it was like "magic". Duh. You're at Disney, silly. Prior to the 2 trips my husband dug into the Farmer's Almanac and checked the moon phases to make sure he booked the most optimal morning during our stay. If you can squeeze it, even people like me who have absolute zero patience for fishing on a normal day can enjoy themselves. I think next time I'll go be the videographer. That is if I can drag myself out of bed that early in the morning.... :snore:

Thanks for the insight. I will pass it along. Thanks!

Skip the dockside fishing.

A bobber and red wigglers on a cane pole. A good way to kill and hour or so with kids, but not "fishing" in any way aside from the fact that sometimes a sunny ends up on your hook.
