Need Help: 70's Trip, Where Did We Stay?

Hi all. I'm hoping to ask some help. In the mid-1970s my family went to Disney World. I'm not exactly sure of the year, but I think it was 1976. But it may have been earlier. And I may not have actually gone! I would have been very young if I did. It may have been even earlier, and I may not have been on the trip.

My Dad had dealings with one of the corporate sponsors of WDW and the family stayed at something that was like a villa, or bungalow. It wasn't simply a hotel room. My brother says he remembers it being near Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village. He remembers construction going on, and playing on construction dirt piles. He thinks it was both construction on the hotel area we were staying in and also on the Shopping Village itself. He said they'd be picked up in a bus to go to the Magic Kingdom.

So, would you guys have some ideas as to where it was that we stayed?

Thank you for your help DisneyPrincess5. I will look-up those places. I think I'll have to perhaps send photos to my brother to see if his memory is jogged.

Thanks again for your help!

If it was near the shopping area it was most likely the Disney Village Resort. It was originally designed for people to buy and live there, but that idea was quickly dropped. They were later used for the Disney Institute guests..Some of the villas were built near the Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. The Disney Inn is located closer to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom.

tigger731, thanks for the info. I'll bet it was the Disney Village Resort. That seems to make the most sense with what my brother described.

And Rob562, thanks greatly for that link! I will have to have my brother take a look to see if photos of The Disney Village Resort jog his memory.

Thanks both for your help.

Thanks all again for your help.

I'll have to try to pin down the year a bit more, but I think it was either one of the early residential town homes that were part of the Lake Buena Vista Resort, or one of the "Vacation Villas". I think these may actually be names for the same units.
