USC has no chance against ND with Barkley out, and yeah the sec teams don't seem as strong this year it's going to be a wild few weeks:) and I can't wait until bedlam tomorrow
The best SEC team is either Bama or South Carolina, with late starter Texas A & M deserving an Honorable mention.
BCS Championship is down to this:

Ala/Georgia vs. ND/Fla

Oregon and K-State still have a shot, albiet a lot has to happen:
1) ND has to lose to SoCal (and lose bad for K-State to even pass them, close game loss and ND is probably still ahead of K-State).
2) Florida lose to Florida State (my have times changed; 1 loss Florida State is not even mentioned in possibilities)
If #1 above happens:

Oregon could slip in if:
1) Stanford loses to UCLA putting Oregon in Pac 12 championship
2) Oregon Beats UCLA in Pac 12 Championship and passes Florida in the BCS...don't see how they jump Florida if Florida beats Florida State...

Looks like half of the BCS Title Game will be SEC Champion (making the quantum leap that Bama holds on to beat Auburn).
Georgia just sqeaked by Georgia Tech earlier.

ND built a brick wall at the goal line. USC sucks hardcore to have 7 or 8 shots at the touchdown. Trolled the clock after.

Cheers cheers for ole notre dame!

Do you have a preference between Georgia and Alabama?

I have not really had time to follow Ga this year. The game this weekend will surely be good between Al and Ga. Either of them on a neutral field have heavy odds in their favor on ND. ND would have to swing something from the Holtz days to hold the tide. (yes I just said that :p )

I think Notre Dame could actually beat Bama but I don't think they could beat Georgia.
Aaron Muarry can torch there secondary
And Georgia just has more talent across the board except maybe for the linebackers. And also Oklahoma gets there second classic win in a row and once again goes by largely ignored by eSECpn

Go ND! Hopefully they'll beat 'Bama/Georgia! Hopefully Te'o will have a great game and extend his Heisman hopes (even though I'm pretty sure that Johnny Football will win it).

Bama's defense is not as good as in most recent years past....UGA should give them a test this weekend...

UGA is a great team I think the best in the sec, people wouldn't know that if they only get analysis from espn there crowning Bama already
Georgia has much to prove....and gets another shot this Saturday! Most forget they lost the SEC Championship to LSU last year. Murray can't seem to win the big games, and beating Florida this year did not give him much of a boost. If Georgia loses this game, they could fall all the way to the Capitol One bowl, or even the Chic-Fila Bowl. Bama would probably end up in the Cotton with a loss here.

Ya think you're headed to the Sugar to meet Florida? Or Fiesta for a date with Oregon? Either one looks pretty decent.

I'd rather be in the sugar I think if we could score in the 20's that they could beat Florida Oregon will destroy our D. And Kent st could win there conference and knock us out of the BCS anyway so I'm not putting OU in the BCS yet

Onward Irish! :) My whole family is Irish/Catholic and had uncles/grandfather who attending ND as well as my brother... he already asked my dad to help him pay for a ticket to the NCG as a Christmas present/Birthday present (his bday is in February). And I am already exceedingly jealous.

Really hoping Alabama loses to Georgia because should ND lose to Alabama, hope not, think they could beat Bama, but if they should... I can't stand another year of bandwagon Alabama fans bragging about how awesome they are. Georgia at least is a relatively new face.

Kent State can only knock Louisville out. This year, unless they move up to #12(aint gunna happen) they could only replace a Champion of a conference.
See below:

3. The champion of Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, or the Western Athletic Conference will earn an automatic berth in a
BCS bowl game
if either:

  • A. Such team is ranked in the top 12 of the final BCS Standings, or,
  • B. Such team is ranked in the top 16 of the final BCS Standings and its ranking in the final BCS Standings is higher than that of a champion of a conference that has an annual automatic berth in one of the BCS bowls.
Kent State is currently ranked 17 and UCLA 16. With UCLA losing last night to Stanford, it s seems possible for Kent to move up to 16 (and be eligible to replace Louisville as stated in #2 above).
My guess would be the AP poll will move either Michigan, Texas, or Oklahoma State past Kent State keeping them below #16 and thus avoiding an unappealing Orange Bowl.

Nice post. Don't think Bama is as good in years past. Georgia has to prove they can recover from a punch in the mouth to win big games. They haven't been able too much in the last 20-30 years. Today is their chance!

And another thing.....not only has the BCS trophy not left the SEC CONFERENCE in the last 6 years, the Trophy hasn't even left the STATE of Alabama for the past 3 years....

**edit** And another another thing!! Until today, Bama has only played Florida in the SEC Championship game (7 times with a 3-4 record). **end**
