Celebrate "National Engineers Week" at Epcot's Innoventions
By Leah Zanolla
Feb 15, 2010

National Engineers week(Feb 14-20) will be celebrated at Innoventions in Epcot. Raytheon Company employees will present several demonstrations showing how engineering and math can be fun. These will take place at the Sum of All Thrills attraction, which Raytheon sponsors, from 10 am - 3 pm all week. One of Raytheon's company goals is to promote math and science to middle school students.

Raytheon will be hosting 25 other events around the country this week, also part of National Engineers Week.

When I first saw this thread...I thought it said National Enquirers Week at Epcot.

I thought...OMG they'll give anyone a week.

So...

So during this week they are going to remind everyone how EPCOT used to have more of an educational focus, and challenged visitors minds rather than just pandered to a lowest-common-denominator audience ????

Not that I have a opinion on the matter....

Well the good news is the trends, at Innoventions, are to restore the original EPCOT Center concept. So someone gets it. Now if it can only be reinstituted in the pavilions it will be perfect. SSE's post show is an encouraging sign IMO.

While I sincerely hope the education level for EPCOT would be raised past the lowest common denominator, I think we may be reading a little too much into a Raytheon-sponsored event in honor of National Engineer's Week....

Enlighten me on how you derive this from Engineering Week.
