For me it is Dale Jr., Greg Biffle, Bobby Labonte, David Gilliland and maybe Matt Kenseth and Ryan Newman. I think Matt Kenseth could be another Mark Martin and that means he could race into his 50's, but what NASCAR teams would want an old driver full time though. I am not sure on Newman since I know wants to resign at Childress and that is a 3-4 years contract if it happens. I mentioned Bobby Labonte because he still does plate races, but it is possible that his cup career could over at some point before 2020.

I am not 100 percent sure on Kevin's new contract ends, but it could after 2020 season.I think Kevin is going to retire in the early 2020's. The Contract is according to Jayski says 2018+ since the long term contract extension announcement didn't say the length of the contract. What I know about long term contract for NASCAR drivers is, they usually are 3 to 5 years long.

Clint Bowyer to me isn't going retire after 2019 since Clint is Carl Edwards age. Both of the them are going to be 40 in 2019. Clint's struggles this year is caused by the team he is with.

I don't see Jimmie Johnson retire before 2020 although I can see him retire in the early 2020's.

Hendrick Motorsports has announced that Dale Jr. will not race at Watkin's Glen and Bristol and Jeff Gordon will be taking his place again. Dale is still having balance issues and has problems with his eye being able to fix on an object at a great distance and stay there with head movement.

I did read some contract info about who ever will be the next sponsor of the the cup series. NASCAR is taking a major hit for who will be the next cup sponsor. The talk is it only will be at least 4 year deal at 25 to 35 million dollars annually. That is way down from the cup series getting from Sprint and that is at 75 Million dollars annually.

There is right now is 5 companies in the hunt. The 5 are Kroger, Yum!Brands, Coca Cola, Samsung, and Hisense. Yum!Brands is the company that operates KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and WingStreet.

Right now, it sounds like Furniture Row Racing Racing is going to have a press conference on Sunday.

The Press conference is about having a 2nd. It is expected that Erik Jones is going to be Furniture Row Racing's 2nd cup driver in 2017 with him racing in the 77 car with the sponsor being 5 Hour energy for 22 races.

Speaking of 2017 cup rookies, I know Ty Dillion will be racing in cup full time next year. The problem is no team has been announced yet and nothing is known about Ryan Newman either. Richard Childress already said Ty is racing full time in cup next year, but he doesn't know if it would be with RCR. Richard Childress also hasn't announced his 2017 driver line up yet either.

Front Row Motorsports has announced Landon Cassill wouldn't start and park for helping Chris Buescher make the top 30 in points for making the chase. NASCAR since last year had the rule of you need to be in the top 30 in points to make the chase.

I am brining this up because Front Row Motorsports would be getting bonus money if Chris makes the chase. NASCAR for a long time has a bonus money program if a driver and a team finishes in the top 25 in points. Higher they finish in the top 25 points, the more money they get. I thought a couple years ago that a driver finishing 16th in points would have the team make an extra $700,000 to $800,000 and that would be big deal for a small budget organization like Front Row Motorsports. That money would help give Front Row slightly better equipment like cars, engines, or brakes.

It's official that Erik Jones is going to start racing for Furniture Row Racing in 2017 with 5 hour energy as a sponsor. The car number was announced also. The number is 77.

It isn't known what Harry Scott Motorsports is going to do with 15 team after this season since 5 hour energy left since that sponsor had no plans of following Clint to Stewart-Haas. 5 Hour Energy didn't have any plans of Following Clint over to Stewart-Haas due to Kurt Busch having Monster Energy drink as a sponsor.

Bryan Clauson past away at the age of 27 Sunday Night from the crash he suffered on Saturday Night in a race. What it sounded like he was his USAC midget car hit another car while he was leading and his car flipped multiple times.

While Bryan Clauson isn't well in NASCAR due to his short stint with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2007 and 2008, he actually was looked upon as one the greats in USAC. Bryan in USAC won 4 champions with over 170 featured wins in different divisions and one of the USAC championships he won was for Tony Stewart. He was one of the drivers that didn't care what he raced and raced in the Indy 500 3 times matter of fact.

At the time he died, he was trying to do a total 200 races in year this year. He died after doing 116 races and won 27 of them this.
