Narrowing choices beyond rides

Hello All, I will be going to the World in a month, staying @ AKL for 9 days, eight nights and was looking for things to do beside the rides, and was thinking about:
1) horseback riding @ Ft. Wilderness (even thou I did once already-enjoyed)
2) rent a boat-need suggestions of which type and where to rent-solo
familiar with Wilderness Lodge area.
3) Backstage Safari @ AK. Anyone try this and thoughts
4) parasailing @ Contemporary

My knee has been acting up over the last few months so I think the hiking and rope bridge of the Trek @ AK could be asking for trouble, also not so great with heights. I have already done Keys To The Kingdom & Beyond The Seeds. I was looking for something in the three hrs or less duration. Appreciate any thoughts, ideas, etc!!!!

If $$$ is not an issue, I would recommend the guided fishing excursion. You can get them from most any resort that is on a major waterway or lake.

I love parasailing (though if you're afraid of heights, it might not be the best choice, obviously). The views you get from up there (and the photos you take!) are well worth the price tag. It was one of the most fun things I've ever done at WDW.

I second this. I have done it out of the beach club and had a great time. I think you are almost guaranteed a fish plus I got to fish out of the epcot lagoon before the park opened. It was pretty awesome.

Only one I've done is renting a boat (hoping to do the AK tour soon though) and for the price, you'll have a great time.

We just hired one of the sun cruises(?) which is the larger boat they have and had a happy hour just sailing around. We rented from WL (where we we're staying) and sailed around Bay Lake and Seven Seas. Not very exciting but we had fun!

I would like to try parasailing someday, but I don't know if I will get to it or not.

My wife and I did a horseback ride one year, and I took our son out on a pontoon last time at the Wilderness Lodge.

Problem with the horseback ride, at least for us, was that it lasts around an hour or so, and after a while it started getting old, and there we were stuck on a horse with our butts hurting, ready for the ride to be done. So keep that in mind.

Definitely do the boat ride, and other suggestions (if you don't mind doing it in the evening) would be a carraige ride at Port Orleans Riverside, or Fort Wilderness. We have done it at both and enjoyed it. Or you could take an after dark wagon ride at Fort Wilderness. When we did it, he parked the wagon at the lake and we got to see Wishes from the lake. That part isn't guaranteed, as it depends on what time Wishes is, but we were lucky enough to be able to see it.

You could also rent surrey bikes and take a family bike ride. They make surrey bikes that will fit up to four people.

And even if you're afraid of heights it still might be a great choice! I am terrified (I have issues going up a step ladder) but I was fine parasailing! It's so peaceful up there and the view just can't be beat! Don't let your fear of heights stop you from doing it... I'm glad I didn't!

It was one of the most memorable things I've ever done at Disney!

I second the Segway Tour at Epcot, if it wouldn't bother your knee. Also, if you have never seen La Nouba at Downtown Disney, it's a fantastic show. Definitely worth seeing!

DH & I have rented the surrey bikes at the Boardwalk & Port Orleans - we love that. It doesn't take long, and it's fun & scenic.
