Nap time-not just for toddlers anymore

It is hot, your feet hurt and you've utilized Magic Hours from opening to closing the parks, but you don't want to go back to the room to rest. As an adult, my favorite place to get a nap at the park is
Epcot- Ellen's Energy ride. 45 minutes of air conditioning and if you're lucky you have the entire row to yourself so you can lay down.
MK- Carousel of Progress
HS-it use to be the Drew Carey sound show
AK-Nemo

Where's your favorite place to nap at the parks as an adult?

LOL - the best sleep ever is on Ellen during the movie scene. I try to sleep on carousel but I like it too much. Nemo while entertaining is long and does not keep my attention - I am knocked out. But I always try to get back to my room for at least 2 hours to sleep during the day. I feel bad for paying so much money and not enjoying the resort.

Totally agree with this! Even down to the Nemo show, since I have fallen asleep through it before! We do like going back to the room midday to relax by the pool or nap. It just makes the evening so much better and less tiring.

I remember when I wanted to spend opening to closing at the parks (and sometimes hopping) not to arrive back in my room until after midnight only to wake up and do it all over again the next day. Then I realized that I was not enjoying my vacation. For me, being in the resort and better the room is the vacation (especially at disney prices) - the theme parks are the added bonus. So now arrive at opening to get as much done by 3 (sometimes earlier) then head back to my room for lunch, pool and sleep. And by 6pm I am ready for the evening - which in most cases means I am headed to evening extra magic hours :)

The Nemo musical at DAK put me to sleep even before they'd finished loading the theater. It was a long hot day at DAK, and the cool dark theater, with comfy seats, just knocked me out.

In the MK, if it's been a hot day, CoP and HoP will ease me into a sleep.

We don't ride Energy any more, so I haven't had the chance to fall asleep on it in years.

Some of the longer omnimovers will give me a quick cat nap....HM, SSE, Nemo.

I swear I always fall asleep once a trip during Playhouse Disney at DHS. I have to sit on a bench because of a bad ankle and once I put my head back, I'm out. The kids wake me with handfuls of streamers and "gold doubloons". :)

Isn't one of the main perks of staying at a Disney resort the proximity to the parks? An afternoon nap in your Disney hotel room is welcome, delightful, and completely needed. Rope drop, attractions, lunch, and back to the hotel for a nap before nighttime fun. Perfect day.

Meh. I can't see myself getting up in time for RD at any park other than AK, and that's only to get full benefit of the safari ride. I wish I was the type who could enjoy getting up for park opening, and then following the rest of your plan, but for DH and I that just wouldn't work. I'm sure that'll change when we have kids, but for now, we're definitely night owls.

I feel bad for paying so much money and not enjoying the resort.

We are also the sleep in kind. If I never see rope drop again, it is ok with me! Some times we are just rolling out of bed at 1030-1130, and it is fine by us. Commando vacations went away a long time ago, now it is about relaxing, exploring and more relaxing. Besides, I love evenings at EPCOT, and if we got there at opening, we would be spent by dinner and have to leave. Old people, young at heart, but slower at our pace.

That is my reasoning. If I'm paying for the Disney resort experience, I'd like to take some time actually enjoy it. Plus I feel awkward in sleeping in public spaces. I have dozed off in HoP, CoP, Philarmagic, and AA by accident. But I don't go into those attractions planning to.

The last time we were there in march I fell asleep on Universe of Energy when Ellen started her dream sequence until my husband woke me up when the ride was ending, I felt great when I woke up. I have also slept thru the country bear jamboree.
