Name one Disney attraction you miss so much it hurts

For me it’s Spectromagic, not only because of the awesome creative units and the music that shook the ground and went right thru you and could make a grown man choke up but. Spectromagic has been there thru every stage of my life and probably seen it with almost every family member and closest friend I have ever had. It’s also my first ever Disney memory and for me is that tied all the feeling and emotions I had for the Magic Kingdom together. It was the highlight of my day and the one part of the day I could enjoy and wind down to at the same time. Nothing could beat hearing Jimminy Crickets voice over the speaker giving you that warm feeling you may get around Christmas time seeing the decorations and hearing the music. Spectromagic delivered that feel at least for me and I think I can say many others.
I also miss illuminations as well, it really had a strong presence in the World Showcase. I’ll take any of the 4 versions back.

Spectromagic remains the biggest lie Disney told. They said it was temporary and never came back. Magic Kingdom changed once spectromagic left.

IllumiNations... and for the same reason you stated. It’s who I shared the experiences with. My family... so much so that my dad and I danced to ‘Promise’ at my wedding, my boyfriend/fiancé/husband... the only way we’d end our days at Epcot, and then our 1 year old son... sharing the spectacle that is the Disney nighttime spectacular 14 days before it ended. (So grateful for that).

IllumiNations is one of the things that defined the magic of Disney for me. One of the only things I looked forward to waiting an hour for, feeling the breeze from Showcase Lagoon, watching the torches flicker, listening to the music, just waiting for the fire, water, and the story.

Horizons. The closure and demolition of Horizons represented the de facto death of EPCOT Center as a park to actually stop and reflect about the world around you, both in technology and in community.

Nowadays, it's becoming just another amusement park. Might as well rip down the mountain backdrop of the Canada Pavilion and put in a Wolverine roller coaster.

It sounds corny but I truly miss Heimlich's Chew Chew Train in DCA. Heimlich's voice cracks me up all the time. I just love a relaxing ride with different scents of food to make me more relax.

Horizons number one without a doubt. In MK is would be Mr Toads Wild Ride. Man WDW in the mid 90s was something special.

I wouldn't say it hurts, but Journey Into Imagination version 1.0 was so much better than its replacements. Perhaps it would not have held up as well in actuality as it does in my memory, however.

I have no active memory of it, but my mom reports I was captivated by the old Mickey Mouse Revue as a toddler. So, I guess I miss that.

I still don't get all the love for Horizons. My least favorite attraction ar Epcot 1.0.

Tapestry of Nations going right into Illuminations! As a kid that was my favorite and was part of the reason why I fell in love with Epcot.

Beyond that...original TT, Snow White's Scary Adventures, Christmas version of Country Bears, Spectromagic, and old narration of TTA Peoplemover.

I'm not even joking when I say Stitch's Great Escape. It was one of my favorites as bad as it was, and I didn't get to have a "final" visit due to the abrupt closure. My last time on it was ruined by a kid screaming and a CM escorting them out with a flashlight during the dark part.

That child would have been scarred for life had it been Alien Encounter lol

Heimlich's always had its detractors - including people who called it the worse ride Disney has every made - but I always found it charming. Obviously, it was a very small scale attraction but it was a nice small diversion.

I've argued in other threads that I'd have liked to see them build It's a Bug's Land in DAK - it would be a nice replacement for Chester and Hester's as a kid friendly area and allow them to tear out Dinorama for something better/more substantial.

This right here. This. I didn’t go to Disney for many, many years. When I got my annual pass back, I missed the closure by just by one week. Was very disappointed to say the least, despite all the negativity around it.
