5) Not having to share the bus with two or three other resorts when you're on your way to a park or another spot on property.
4) Well themed buildings and great view of SSE
3) Better usage of the main hall with the Gift shop and restaurant is in the same area
2) nice clean rooms

and the number one reason I love Disney's Pop Century Resort: Because it is at Walt Disney World.

I love pop half century because of:

1. It has its own bus, you dont have to worry about stopping at other places to be picked up or pick more people up.

2. Its pretty cheep, but its high quality IMO.

3. It was the first disney resort I stayed at.

4. Wherever we stay it seems we arent to far from the busses.

5. And its a nice place with nice theming stuff.

I love the bus service, the decor, the gift shop/food court is great, the lobby, the music, the fact that you can see Spaceship Earth from the right spot, and just how alive and fun the whole place is. The only two Disney resorts I've stayed at are Pop and ASMovies, and Pop wins by far.

  2. having its own bus saves tons o'time
  3. the layout is easy to follow and great locations throughout
  4. location w/in WDW property. You are located fairly equidistant from the 4 parks, making travel times very manageable.
  5. food court has good variety and many unique offerings (Twinkie Tiramisu, Shrimp Lo Mein).

Having stayed there at least 3 times for 10 days or more, my last trip was in Oct of 2007. Toward the last days, I turned to my wife and said: "I can't take this place ever again. NO way we stay here anymore!"

The theming is great and having your own bus versus sharing like the All-Stars do certainly has its charm, but thats about it. There is just entirely too many bottom of the barrel types staying there and the food court is a maddening...at best!

Going to the food court at Pop after 8AM is just insanity. Getting a "preferred room" close to the pool is a COMPLETE waste of money because all you end up doing is listening to kids yelling and screaming into all hours of the night at the pool. And if you are close enough, you can also hear everyone drinking at the pool bar after midnight.

And then after reading one of the WDW guides, I looked at the simple math of 800 rooms at the Wilderness Lodge versus 2800 rooms at Pop. That was enough for me to say I'll just start paying the extra money for nice accomidations, a quieter atmosphere, and waaaaaay less people fighting for the bus.

I will miss my fond memories made at Pop, but I'm graduating and moving on! :p
