Ok... So I thought I would post something I haven't seen on here...

We all know rumors that spread around the net like a wild fire... Has anyone heard of a myth or urban legend about something from a Disney Park. Is it true or false..

Like, if you go up to a turkey leg vendor and gobble like a turkey they give you a free turkey leg. We know that is totally false.. But totally fun! Can you imagine being the person behind someone doing that???

Do you have one or heard one and do you know if it is true or false???

how about this great myth. I have once heard tale that in expedition Everest there was once a yeti, and he moved! it's been so long now
nobody can remember if it was real or if they only dreamed it. there is a prophesy that says it existed and may one day exist again. between you and me I think it an old wives tale meant for the easily fooled and for stickied forum threads...

I'd heard one of the singing busts at the Haunted Mansion was Walt Disney. It's false though, I think : )

And about Club 21 at WDW. Not sure if that one is true or false though!

I don't think I've heard of any others!

There is a great urban legend of a woman suing WDW because she had major ear issues after she rode to Sea Base Alpha on the hydrolators. Allegedly the judge, jury, and counselors went to The Living Seas, and had them run the hydrators with both sets of doors open in front of the judge. Judge bangs the gavel....suit dismissed. Probably not true but also a goodie.

was curious myself after hearing this and had to go looking, apparently from another site they say

" It is actually the face of Thurl Ravenscroft, who is known as the voice of Tony the Tiger"

to be honest I think that's just as cool and i would have never found out without that myth post, so thanks!

I think the only ones I've heard are about Walt being frozen and how a kid was almost stolen, but was saved from a fate worse than death by the amazing Disney staff. Well, and ghost stories...but I don't argue with people who believe in ghosts. Maybe they're right. ;)

These are Disneyland ones:

The survey marker near Sleeping Beauty Castle marks te original geographic center of Disneyland. False.

A colorblind bulldozer operator knocked down all the trees when the land for Disneyland was being prepped because he could not tell the difference between the ribbon colors marking "remove" and "keep." False, Marty Sklar admitted to making it up.

And a Walt Disney World one sure to ruffle some feathers. The Dream Suite in Cinderella Castle was intended for Walt Disney. False, design work for the Magic Kingdom began only after Walt's passing.

"That the cleaning crew cleaned up all the cobwebs in the Haunted Mansion the night before it opened because they thought they were real and they had to be reapplied" -- false, just a Disney story that has been perpetuated
"That Walt took dozens of trips in his plane to Florida to check out the property they were trying to buy" -- false, his contractors did all that, though he might have been on at least a few trips, he certainly didn't go out to "look" at swaps.
"That POTC is so short because they rushed it into production and ran out of room when they were building" -- False, though it was rushed into production -- the water table was too high underground to allow them to add the drops and the multiple-levels of the original in California, so it was redesigned.
There is a whole section at the Walt Disney Family Museum in SF that dispels a lot of old stories and rumors.

There's the one were if you are late with your fastpass window you can ask nicely if they will let you in and they will or if they don't you scream like someone is torturing you and you will get a free weeks stay at a luxury resort for as many people as you want, any time you want, but you still won't get on the ride.

Truth be known I just made that one up, but it could happen.

A lot of what was cut would also be redundant in Florida as that is set up by the queue.
