MyMagic+ questions after watching the D11 video....

I have done that in the past, but they just sent endless emails and texts, and make the phone useless. On a average day I will get 2000+ emails from work.
Why don't you simply not read those emails while you are on vacation? I'm not understanding how simply having your phone in your pocket makes you deal with those emails.

It should also be noted that 2000 emails per day is one every 45 seconds or so 24/7. Either you don't actually receive that many emails or you already live in a reality where you do not respond to all of your emails, so I'm not seeing you issue.

One of my recent concerns (feel free to add this to your question list, ddrongowski!) is how difficult it will be to temporarily link, and then de-link, accounts. (Profiles? I don't quite have the lingo down yet.)

For instance, if you run into someone you know while in the parks, can one person reserve, via smartphone or otherwise, Fastpasses for both? Do your accounts have to be linked to do so? (My interpretation of their literature is 'yes,' otherwise people will be reserving numbers of FPs far above their needs.) Currently, one person takes all of the group's KTTW cards and does a FP run. What would the MM+ equivalent be? Or would you have to stand around on your phones, crossing your fingers that you get the exact same FP window at the same time?

Ditto for the reverse--if you're linked with people but want to get FP+ for a different park, can your profile go solo? Example: family of four, Mom does all of the account setup and planning, but the day before the trip, 16-year-old son says he wants to do DHS on a day when the family is going to MK. Can Mom cancel one of the family's four FP+ profiles for the day (without having to cancel the entire FP+ reservation) and re-reserve Son for [whatever is still available at] DHS? Would Son have to log in and do it himself? If he prefers to do so, could Son do it himself, or would Mom have to do everything, since she signed up as the family's 'lead' profile?

(I'm sure a lot of these will become clearer once the program officially starts and picks up speed. If anyone can shed a little light, I'd greatly appreciate it!)
The T&C are pretty clear about this. If you link your profiles, then any linked profile can make or change FP+ reservations.

As to the 'can one person go his own way?' question, the answer is almost certainly 'yes'. I imagine that the reservation process would be not unlike the current ADR process where you tell the system how many you need and it then requires you to choose which people in your party will attend. Per the T&C, every FP reservation can be changed/modified up to the return time. Therefore, a person could choose to give back any made FP reservations and make new ones, if he was not going to be with the group.

I understand. I'm just concerned as to how difficult it may be to link/de-link. That probably sounds silly but we enjoy running into people in the parks unexpectedly (or overlapping with friends but spending only one or two days with them) and that spur-of-the-moment linking, followed by de-linking later that day, or linking up with two unrelated (unlinked) groups at the same time (possible?), may not be what Disney set the system up to do. (Also, if we link up with friends, I don't want their kids to be able to change *my* reservations!) Well, we'll see!

OKAY!!!!! I have answers....

Sounds like a smartphone is really required to get the most out of this? Yes a smart phone really is required, but is not... If you do not use a smartphone, you will go to guest relations to get, modify, change, link, unlink your fastpasses.

I see they mention kiosks for ticketless fastpasses, if you do not have a smartphone. There are no kiosks, guest relations at the park will be were you go to get your fastpasses, etc...
But how does it notify you if you do not have a smartphone? While you are at guest relations at the park, they will tell you the times of your fastpass+.
Does it give you a ticket at the kiosk? No there are no kiosks, but guest relations the park will tell you the times.
How many of these kiosks are there? Zero.
How fast is it to use one of these kiosks (think about the problems people have at simple to use self checkouts at grocery or walmart stores)? Since there are no kiosks and guest relations at the park will handle the issuing, modifications, linking, unlinking, etc of the fastpass+. It will depend on how busy guest relations at the park is.
Do I have to wait for a certain amount of time between kiosk visits? There are no kiosks for fastpass+ it is handled by guest relations at the park.
Also it sounded like you can get these ticketless fastpasses prior to entering the park, won't this just empty the fastpasses out within minutes (think of how fast they disappear for toy story in Disney Studios)? 60 days before arrival WDW guest may get 3 fastpass+ for a park, per day. Only 1 park per day not more then 1. Also the fastpass+ and existing fastpass system is not presently linked, so it is possible that double the amount of fastpasses will be issued in the beginning. Later the 2 fastpass systems will be linked, and yes it will be possible that non WDW resort guests will not be able to obtain a fastpass. Also WDW resort guests that do not utilize the 60 day prior to arrival issuing might not be able to obtain a fastpass.

Ordermuppet, I asked them about your linking unlinking question. They said that, you simple go to guest relations at the park and they will link and unlink them as you need it done.

One Little Spark...
I have an idea! Lets get rid of map brochure stands. Everyone should go to Guest Relations to get a map!

Maps are so 20th century...

Will MM+ automatically tweet for me whenever I use the restroom?

There is no way in the world the solution is 'goto city hall'. City Hall can't handle the crowd load it already has on many days.

There will have to be GR people out on foot dispersed through the park.. setup with umbrellas and ipads.
And don't forget helping all those people that misplaced their smart phones, and want them back. I wonder how many phones are lost in WDW in a month? Any guesses?

Now if I could stop all the emails and texts from them when I do not answer, it would be a good thing (that is why I do not carry it at WDW). But I guess when they think that only I can solve their problems, and they have no other choice. I do get even though by calling them, sending them emails and texts at midnight while they try to sleep.

You get over 2,000 email messages on an average day? #humblebrag

What about those whom choose not to own/lease a smartphone? Really, we have no use for one.

The same could be said for those that do not use credit or debit cards, don't use computers, don't use the internet, etc. Should we just hold back technology and wait for everyone to catch up? You will still be able to use the system to a point, but a smartphone will be needed to get the most out of it.
