It's local dialect for Hobby Horse, and a local celebration in the town where there is fun all day long. The Obby Oss is a wooden structure supposedly depicting a horse.
A very old tradition in the UK!

It's a small patch but it's there! We are very "in" the city, so small yards are hard to come by. Our neighborhood has a lot though.

Been to visit my mom today. She is housebound and doesn't get out to see her garden apart from me taking photos. She has a lovely friend who looks after it for her as she can't do anything now and we live too far away to help ( before she had a stroke, as we call it in the UK, she kept it tidy with lots of plants).
The photo doesn't really do it justice, but the plant at the front is a variety of Clematis which has the same name as her.
