My review of the Na'vi River Journey ride

Perhaps I'm confused as to the backstory of Pandora, I thought we were all supposed to be tourists from earth visiting and seeing the natural sights. Is RoP supposed to have a story? I rode it with the idea that we are just taking a boat ride at night through the natural flora and fauna of Pandora, and the wildlife is just doing what it always does (similar perhaps to a safari?). Along the way we happen to see some natives, too, and a shaman by the river. Maybe since I wasn't expecting a story, I wasn't disappointed. Would a guide make it better? Pointing out the not to be missed details, or educating us on the surroundings? So, this is all a new perspective for me. What does everyone think?

Frozen is a bit of a stinker, but it and Gran Fiesta are both better than RoP. There are stories being told in those two rides at least - and I've always loved the Three Caballeros. :)
1 - El Rio del Tiempo / Gran Fiesta
2 - Na'vi River Journey
3 - Frozen m&g with Weird Projection Face Elsa Boat Ride

Also, your name is the Dutch Inn, but your avatar is the erstwhile TraveLodge? (I myself since the trauma if the closed Energy have a different avatar / forum name too). The Dutch Inn is next door, the current Wyndham. Here seen together with the Empress Lilly:

The "Weird Projection Face Boat Ride" is indeed strange. One of those WHAT WERE THEY THINKING! moments.

Are you sure about the hotels? When we stayed at the Dutch Inn I was seven years old, and my seven year old memory tells me that it was the one in my avatar (and that is almost good enough). ...but I was a youngster...

Pandora has a backstory?? I was there a month ago and I had no idea. How am I supposed to know that? Imagineering dropped the ball there if that's true.

I expect a story with EVERY ride at a theme park that's not a big wooden roller coaster. Otherwise, I can just go to Six Flags.

I feel like the bio-luminescence is where they excelled, the animations of the woodsprites, fanlizards, and the Shamaan are perfect. The fact that they actually used layered screens was something I was excited to see(I really wanted to see this on Hogwarts Express).

I don't mind the length if I don't wait long. Short and sweet with great music and sound design. But it needs 3 or 4 animatronic creatures for some wow factor. But I like the lack of narration that really makes the story your own and not some Peter-Pan's Flight kind of retelling.

Could the story be developed more? Yes. Should it be developed more? Yes. Should NRJ be retooled? Yes. Is Pandora the World of Avatar a success in both the eyes of management and park guests...
:shrugs:

I think it's underwhelming and over-hyped based on "what we have" currently.

From these reviews it appears it would be a waste of a fast pass.

Yea from my experience this January 15th, 2018. And what I did, was rope drop or near rope drop this ride, and Fastpass Flight of Passage, Unless you can get onto Flight of Passage within the first 10 minutes of lineup, then you can still do Na'vi River Journey's lineup of less than 15 minutes no problem. (Based on EMH)
