DISNEY...IT'S AN ADDICTION!

IT IS AN ADDICTION, sad to say though that not everyone understands it. It's good to have someone that you can talk to about it who can relate to the obssession that you have, because they have it too!!

To tell you the truth, i think it's great that there are more teenage Psychotically Obsessed Disney fans out there besides me, that way i can tell the ones who use me for parlor tricks (like singing songs in the middle of math class) that there are more out there than just me.

We are normal. Just not normal in the way our parents wants us to. I'm one of them. i want to work at Disney (Burbank or WDW) for a career. their are other teens that like Disney that don't show it or they show it but not that much like us.

I am incredibly obsessed, but the good thing is that my mom is as obsessed if not more, so when i say something disney related, i always get her full attention. I guess it runs in the family.

Funny you should mention Disneyitis, I have an old Word document, (I don't remember where I got it maybe wdwig.com or some other message board) but it explains Disneyitis and gives some examples. Here are a few.

Most of your framed family pictures are from Disney World and you can't keep track of how many visits without counting your library of WDW photo albums.

Your so obsessed that you start to see spots in the shape of Mickey Mouse!!

You have memorized ever word to every Disney Movie known to man.

You have rated all Disney World restrooms and will only visit the best ones.

You call long distance to WDW... just to chat with the Cast Members.

You wonder what Disney will do for the year 3000 celebration.

Everything you say relates back to WDW.

You are reading this and saying wow that's me

(my apologies in case I stepped on someone's toes. I saved the list from the the internet long ago and honestly don't remember where I found it)

Pooh&eyore, I was thinking about going to HersheyPark or maybe even taking the train to BuschGardens/Williamsburg Va for 4days at the end of August. We have a trip planned to WDW in Nov. so I wasn't even looking at WDW until I saw the prices of Hershey & BuschGardens. Before labor day, is still considered "peak summer rates" as opposed to WDW which has reduced rates at this time. An example: $220+ night HersheyLodge, $150+ DaysInn Hershey. I thought, I could stay in the Polynesian concierge for $234 or any variety of WDW Resorts from $59-234 a night. The airfare is only $100 more then the train fare to Williamsburg Va. The bottom line is, Disney gives you more for your money and that special magic too!

Actually my dad is just as obsessed as I am. My mother, however, thinks my addiction is unhealthy. She actually worries about it. "Alison, it's not good to be so obsessed with something. I worry you are developing an obsessive personality." My friends just think its cute. But, it's all i think about!!

That is soooo true...

I want to work at WDW in the entertainment field when I get older (lol mktiggerman). My firnds think I'm crazy. They make fun of me all the time, but I don't care. My parents don't think I'm too crazy, just a little... lol But it's okay, I like being like this... I LOVE DISNEY!

Just thought I'd add a different idea to the thread. Don't you think its kinda odd that people talk out about Disney obession, yet nobody mentions when people are obsessed with cars, sports, etc. Kinda of a double standard
Seriously though, I don't think there is anything wrong with Disney obsession. We all have to something in our spare time, Why not Disney!

Whatever you pick to do it you spare time, enjoy life and live life to the fullest!

Its so hard to find Disney nuts these days. Thank god they made the internet, otherwise I can't find any other person whose just as nuts as me. I'm so excited about Lilo and Stitch, and right now. I'm making some shirts to wear to WDW next time. One is an homage to 20,000 Leagues, of course.

Plus, where else could I rant on about Beastly Kingdom????:hammer:

Figment's back! Hip hip Hooray! Hip hip Hooray!!

Come to think of it, Disney seems to be the only company with "fans". Unless there are some Mircosoft groupies that I haven't heard of.

MKingdom25: Ahmen to what you said!

Not to sound mean but I really can't relate. My whole family has been disney fanatics all my life. Especially my dad- which is great because we have taken a trip every year since I was five and now I am getting married and my father still plans to go (without me for a while, just the parent thing). Until my husband and I have kids then we'll go as a family. He actually got so jealous my future husband and I are going to Disneyworld on our honeymoon and the fact I am so excited, I think he might surprise my mom with a "honeymoon" for them in Disneyland   .

Well, if Disney's an adiction, it's the healthiest one to have!

And don't think Disney-itis is confined only to the teen crowd - I have a serious and permanent case, I'm proud to say!:D

Ha!

I feel like I'm reading something that I would have written in every single one of these posts!

My family understands because they are the ones that made me this way and my fiance is obsessed to a point, so he's okay with it. The worst time though I've EVER had with my Disney-itis was when I first went off to college. My roommate was an only child who had been to WDW and DL once and hated it. She thought that I was really in need of a mental examination when I'd play my WDW music off my winamp. My solution -- headphones. I decided that if she didn't like me because I was a kid at heart that loved the happiest place on earth, she wasn't worth listening to anymore. :p
I just hooked my headphones up to my computer speakers and rocked out to all my Disney must-haves. I suggest a cheap pair to anyone going off to college that may have a judgemental roommate.

Everyday I go to this website and I just imagine myself being in Walt Disney World all the time. My friends and family know me as the Disney Fanatic and well, that's ok. Anytime someone mentions that they want to go to WDW or do anything Disney related, they contact me! It's nice as I get my dose of Disney from every corner of my life!   :D :D :D

I think for the non-Disney fanatic it is hard to understand because alot haven't been to WDW. Someone will ask to me to explain what WDW is like and its kinda hard. I can explain some of the magic but its almost where you have to say, once you go you will understand. But hey I am still trying to spread the Disney magic! :)
