ISTCNavigator57 said:My problem with cats stems from allergies--I've grown used to Salem over the years (actually, if you get a cat as a young kitten, you most likely won't be allergic to it--this worked for my sister with her two littermates, Mickey and Dolly, and it worked for me with all three of em!), so I don't get allergies from him, but new cats are always a problem.
somehow if we are exposed the the dander as the cat starts releasing it, our body doesn't create an allergic reaction to it--but only that particular cat. I'm guessing if we get a full dose, our body freaks out, but if we get a small dose at first (from a kitten), our bodies just grow okay with the small amount and that passive reaction to that specific dander type just continues. It's nice thoughErika said:I have heard that about allergies! A few of our highly allergic friends have gradually grown immune to our cats over the past few years. Other kitties still cause them to flare up. I think that is so interesting.
Luckily I have Belle to help me... Meg Belle wants go play with Tinks... think he's up for it!?!? I think you should bring him over here!!! TnkrBelPixiDust said:ISTCNavigator57 I used to have a cat named Salem.. but he ran away 4 weeks ago and that's why I got Belle... here's a pic of Salem... Sure hope he does. While many will disagree, ours are stictly indoor cats,to prevent just this. Studies have shown indoor cats are just as content as ones that roam outside; certainly they stay healthier and live longer.TnkrBelPixiDust said:Thanks Erika... im still hoping.. but he was a really friendly cat so chances are he has another (hopefully loving) home.
