Holy moly. Three weeks?!?? Man, that was fast! I need to go back and see when this thread was posted.

Yay for Universal! I can totally meet up with you guys there, and maybe even Disneyland. I really don't know how you're going to be able to do all of this in one month... Will you be doing something every single day in November???
Yes. And no sleep. That helps. Some of the stuff we can check off two items on our list in a day; that's really the only way we can do it all. Even then, I'm not sure. If we end up with a free day, that's a beach day (maybe we'll see if there's a heat wave while we're there). My wife mandated that we up our Disneyland days since we got APs; I "reluctantly" agreed. I'm sort of avoiding doing the math on how many days we have to do what and when. I'm mostly just trying to keep a list of "definites" that I would be really mad if we didn't see:
1. Disneyland
2. Desert
3. Whale/dolphin watching
4. Space shuttle @ CA Science Center (isn't it about time for that thing to drive over to its new home?)
5. Uni - creeping onto this list because it's gotten pretty cheap and TRANSFORMERS
6. Reagan Library - Air Force One and the Disney Archives exhibt!

I think that's all of them. I think I also have a good spot carved out for the Getty Villa; I'm pretty excited about that, too. The other stuff I'm looking forward to, but if something happens and we don't see it, it won't bother me too much. I do think we'll be able to pretty much do it all, though.

Wow. Good luck. You guys are going to be some busy beavers. The space shuttle is rolling through Los Angeles today. Around 400 trees were sacrificed for it. You wouldn't believe the traffic.

Will you be renting a car while you're here?

We thought about it, but my brother-in-law strangely insists that we use his. We drive him to work in the morning (it's close) and then head off to wherever. It worked before, but this is so much longer, so we'll see. Hotwire seems to pretty reliably get cheap cars at LAX last-minute, so the plan is to see if somebody gets sick of car sharing and maybe do that.

That's nice of him to let you borrow his car. How will he get home from work, though, if you're out and about?

He normally doesn't get out 'til 6 or 6:30 so it's about time for us to head back anyway. Some days he's going to get a ride home so that we can stay late at Disneyland to see the nighttime shows. That was my only complaint about sharing the car before... two trips and I still haven't seen a nighttime show at Disneyland!

What?! Not even a firework show? Make sure you get there early for Fantasmic!. You know the crazy DL fans will save their seats hours before showtime.

'Tis sad, I know. I have a picture of the latest time I was in Disneyland... the lights had just come on on Main St as we were walking out; it wasn't even really dark yet! I'm gonna make up for it this trip, though. RDCT won't be playing, but I'm gonna see all of the night shows that are offered while I'm there. I'm hoping Al drops the news about whether WoC will be a holiday tag or a full holiday show soon so I can plan accordingly.

LOL that's funny. Just missed RDCT:( That's ok, though.

So what's the plan. Are you planning on seeing each offering once per night, or are you going to try and catch everything in one night? Don't forget Soundsational, if you miss the first showing. It will be dark for the second showing.

Tough to say. I definitely want to check something off the list on the 4th (our first day). Maybe leaning towards WoC since there might be a whole new holiday show a week later. Might also be able to catch WoC and then slide over to Fantasmic! after the the first showing lets out and stake out our spot for the second one. Just have to see how everyone is doing. Kids can get tired, my brother-in-law can be a little bit of an Eeyore sometimes... ;)

I've heard good things about Soundsational after dark, even though it's not officially a nighttime parade. We might not be able to see it twice before it goes away for the Christmas parade, but if we do, once in the day and once at night would be a good target.

I don't know what you have planned on the evening of November 11th but the tree lighting at The Grove will be on that day from 7:30-9:30 pm! A lot of celebrity artists will be performing, some of them being Colbie Caillet, Michael Bolton, Scotty McCreery... There will be others. Should be a lot of fun!

The 11th is our second day in the desert, but we might be back in LA in time to check that out. I do want to get over to The Grove at some point... that sounds like a good excuse!

My head is spinning right now trying to pack everything!

First, I have to wrap my head around:
1. I'm going to be on the other side of the country in 48 hours.
2. I'm going to be away from work/school for longer than I have been in ten years.
3. I'm going to Disneyland!

before I even have the opportunity to get confused! :D

Don't try and do too much. I think I should stop suggesting things for you, LOL.
