Pre-Trip My groom agreed on a Disneymoon, but will he love it?

Hi there! You may have seen me around, but this will be my first pre-trip report. I am beyond thrilled that it will be my DISNEYMOON!! Before I get started, let me properly introduce myself.

This is me, Heather, on my last trip to WDW back in 2012. (Far too long ago!)
Disney World 024.jpg

I took that trip with my mom and niece after going through a year long divorce. :( But life has changed so much in the last 5 years. Just around the time that I took that trip, I began dating someone. That someone just so happened to be a guy that I had met 13 years prior when I started working at the local Piggly Wiggly while in college. It was my first day on the cash register and he was a stock boy/bag boy. He asked me on a date that very day, BUT I had a boyfriend (who I ended up marrying) so I declined and he went on to get married years later as well. Fast forward to 2012 and we reconnected through Facebook. Come to find out he had went through a divorce at the same time as me and so we started hanging out. As much as I tried to not get "serious" it was only a matter of time before he swept me off of my feet.

My Prince Charming, Josh.

Now BOTH of us had tried for many years to have children with our ex-spouses and BOTH of us were told by the medical professionals that it was us that had an "issue" that prevented us from ever having any children. So imagine our surprise when a year later.....

Our miracle arrived!

Our family :inlove:

So like I said, a lot has happened in the last 5 years. We both decided that we didn't want to rush into marriage, having been through what we had. We got engaged 2 years ago and we've finally decided that now is the right time. On April 22, 2017, we will finally become husband and wife in a very small ceremony underneath the oak trees at my aunt's house.

Now, we have went back and forth on where we wanted to honeymoon or if we should even take one at all. Would it be just the two of us, or would we go somewhere with our son? At the end of the day, we decided we'd take a honeymoon, just the two of us. With so much happening over the last 5 years and so early on in our relationship, we have never been on a long vacation together. And let's face it...Mommy and Daddy need a break! But the where was still up for debate. Of course, my first choice was Disney. I've been many times, but he's never been. His argument was that he wanted his first time at Disney to be with his son. My argument was that he needed to experience it first as an adult without a child because when we bring our son it will be a very different trip. Finally he agreed because he knew it would make me happy! :inlove::happy:

Mommy and Daddy are going to Disney! (Shhhh...we aren't telling Cam where we are going.)

I hope I did not bore you with our lengthy backstory. o_O I've been super nervous about the planning process. My only wish is that Josh will have a great time and love Disney at least half as much as I do! (He does love Disney movies, so that's a bonus.)

Next: Trip details!!!!

Well...time is dragging, but then it's not. Does that make sense? LOL!

We are down to 29 days until our wedding. Eeek! We made some progress in the last couple of weeks and we purchased our attire for the big (but very small) day! I am glad that's out of the way. We moved the ceremony to our house, so I still need to put together a few little decorations and make my little bouquet (I'm into crafts).

Honestly we've been having more fun planning our honeymoon outfits. I made myself 7 shirts for the trip and 2 for Josh. I was happy he agreed to some matching shirts. Speaking of...36 days until Disney!

Since I first made reservations and first reported it here on the pre-trip report at 109 days out, some changes have been made to the itinerary. This is what things are looking like now!

Sunday, April 30th: Arrive at Animal Kingdom Lodge
(We are scheduled to land around 7:30pm. In the original plan, we were going to meet up with my sister and her husband, but we had to book a later flight and she has a busy schedule for the rest of the time we are there and it just didn't work out. That's ok though because I'll be seeing her the weekend before since she's flying home for the wedding. :inlove: We will likely grab something to eat at the food court or maybe hit up the Sanaa Lounge for some bread service. :hungry:)

Monday, May 1st: Epcot @ Rope Drop
FP+ for Test Track, Spaceship Earth and Nemo
Lunch: Flower and Garden booths (I'm so excited about this festival after seeing so many beautiful pictures!)
Dinner: La Hacienda

Tuesday, May 2nd: Magic Kingdom @ Rope Drop
FP+ for 7DMT, Peter Pan and Space Mountain
Lunch: Quick Service
Dinner: California Grill (I was so happy to score this ADR after originally not planning for it. Our reservation is at 6:55 and Wishes is at 9:00. Cali Grill frequent visitors, would you say this will be good timing to be able to watch Wishes from the observation deck?)

Wednesday, May 3rd: Resort Day
Breakfast: Boma (8:45am)
Pool and Nap
Dinner: 'Ohana (6:35pm)
EMH @ Magic Kingdom
(My concern here is if Boma and 'Ohana on the same day will be too much. I think they are spaced out enough and we can keep it light through out the rest of the day until dinner. At least that is my hope. We will be out in the sun and swimming so I am sure we will work up an appetite.)

Thursday, May 4th
: Animal Kingdom
(Since we will be out late the night before, I am not planning on Rope Drop this day.)
FP+ for Safari, Everest and Dinosaur
Lunch: Yak & Yeti
Dinner: Quick Service or Lounge
(Originally planned on Yachtsman this night, but cancelled. After a late night in MK, I kind of wanted an easy day and go with the flow evening.)

Friday, May 5th: Hollywood Studios @ Rope Drop
FP+ for Toy Story Mania, ToT and Star Tours (This made me a little nauseous last time, but I am hoping for the best! :hungover:)
Lunch: Quick Service
Dinner: Will be hopping back over to the Animal Kingdom for the ROL Dining Package at Tiffins

Saturday, May 6th:
Breakfast: Kona (Tonga Toast!)
(I want to do a little resort touring this morning after breakfast. I really want to see Grand Floridian in person. I've actually never been to any of the MK resorts. Afterwards, we will stop by MK for a couple hours to say good-bye  and then hop over to Epcot.)
FP+ for Frozen Ever After
Lunch and Dinner: World Showcase
(I didn't plan for a return visit to Epcot this afternoon/evening, but then I looked at the Garden Rocks Concert Series schedule and saw that Starship was playing this weekend. What better way to end a honeymoon than rocking out to "We Built This City"? Sway to the sounds of "Sara"? No? :hilarious: Fun times!

Sunday, May 7th: Home
8:30am flight
DME will be picking us up on departure day around 5:30am, correct? o_O

This turned into a long, wordy update! I am hoping to get in some mid-day breaks. I'd love more pool time on other days besides the designated resort day and naps are good too! We will see if this actually happens.

To your California Grill ADR question, it really just depends how busy they are and how quickly you guys eat your meal. But I'd say you're definitely in a good time that you would be wrapping up everything just before wishes begins. If you happen to finish before then and don't feel like sitting at your table anymore, just hang on to your receipt and you can get back on the deck when wishes begins.

I just checked your plans against mine......er well DW plans and they don;t match up at all. I have this silly thought that one day someone reading a trip report
will spot themselves in the background of another trip report but it won't be us in your photos or you in ours. On your AK days check to see if there is any softopenings at Pandora. Hope you and your soon to be DH have a terrific time!

Congratulations! I loved reading your story and your son is so adorable! I agree that Josh needs to experience WDW for the first time without Cameron. It will allow you guys to make Cameron's first trip all about him. Looking forward to your trip report!

I'm late on posting my excitement about it because...well...I am getting married Saturday! It has come so quickly. I got all the decorations done this past weekend and I had to throw in a little Disney.
best day ever.jpg

I have a little Mickey and Minnie bowl and plate that I'll be using for finger foods as well. So cute!

I've also been busy with this...

Little man broke his leg on Easter Sunday. Oh it's been so much fun! NOT! That cast goes ALL the way up his thigh! This is him trying to "drill" it off. I am so glad that I went ahead with planning this trip without him! :jawdrop: But I feel bad for putting this on my mom for a week.

I am sure they will be fine though!

I'll be back next week to let you all know how the wedding day went!:inlove:

Aww poor kid, that cast doesn't look like fun!

Such an exciting few weeks ahead for you. Congratulations on your wedding, I hope you have a great day and, more importantly, a great life together :inlove: And of course, enjoy your disneymoon! Your plans sound incredible!

Anytime i see a trip report at the same time that i was there i'm scouring the pics to find myself in the background... so far no luck though! :bored:

I'm married! The wedding turned out very nicely. The only bump in the road was our 3 year old having a complete meltdown just as we were about to start the ceremony and was pretty much cranky the rest of the evening. Josh had to hold him while we exchanged vows b/c Cameron would not let him go, haha. The broken leg has been stressful on us all. On the plus side, he got a new cast yesterday that he has to wear for 2 more weeks and that should be it. His foot is out on this one so he can wear his regular shoes. His mood has been much better. In the midst of everything going on, I have not packed a thing, but plan on pulling out the suitcases today and get started! Here are some pictures from the wedding:

You look absolutely beautiful! I'm glad your big day went off with only the small hiccup with your little one. I have to admit that I would be a little cranky if I had to wear a leg cast too! ;) I love the Mickey & Minnie heart thingy too...where did you find that because I want one too!

Enjoy your honeymoon and remember to take some time to relax while at Disney too!
