Well, here I am...Another Disney board. I really hope I can keep my mind on this one.

A little background before my posts...My name is John Kilduff, and I've been on quite a few Disney boards over the years. From The DisBoards to Intercot and beyond, I haven't been able to find a place to stick. I hope I can finally set down some roots here.

Anyway, my first question deals with the following: I'm 23 years old and I'll be turning 24 in December. I've been hearing a lot of mixed signals about what will be happening to Pleasure Island...As long as 8Trax stays open, I'll be okay, but I know that the club's time will come eventually. So with that:

What other activities are there for adults to do at Walt Disney World? I would prefer that there be a lot of socializing involved in these activities, but whatever info you have would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

John "DisneyGrown-Up" Kilduff

adult activities?

 I wouldnt really go to DIsney world looking for "adult activities". Disney world is supposed to be for the kid in all of us. That said, theres golf, fishing, comedy clubs, dancing, etc. Thats all I can think of.!!

Epcot can be a lot of fun. You can sample different types of alcohol and foods. You can easily make friends walking around down there.

i concur! Epcot in the evenings turns into a really cool time, more adults than kids, and everyone is so friendly! on my last trip, my gf and i met another couple on Maelstrom and we wandered around together afterwards

a good suggestion is to grab a beer at the UK or Canada and watch Off Kilter, a pretty good crowd usually builds up there, 'specially when everyone is drinkering

try Boardwalk too, lots of bars there like Jellyrolls, Spoodles, and ESPN club

Thanks for the advice so far.

I have been meaning to check out the Boardwalk for quite a while now. I think that next year could be the year. It's strange...The trip is at least a year away, but I'm already thinking about it. After last year's experiences, which I'll reveal about myself in due time, I never thought I would be excited about the parks again, but I'm already waiting for 2007 to arrive.

Sincerely,

John "DisneyGrown-Up" Kilduff...

P.S,

This probably isn't the thread to mention it in, but I like the Universal parks as well as the Disney parks.

That is the best indicator that you'll "fit in" just fine on WDWMagic

Oh, and although some might disagree, liking Universal isn't a sin... :lookaroun

[maybe someday, I'll run out of things to do at WDW and make it over there ]

sorry double post

If you "Edit" the second post and click "Go advanced", there's now an option to delete the post. I've never actually tried it, I don't make mistakes :lookaroun

I definitely recommend the Boardwalk. I'll be 23 in August, and I definitely prefer the Boardwalk area to Pleasure Island. PI reminds me too much of the clubs in Boston that I can go to on any weekend. Boardwalk feels much more like you're on vacation.

Epcot World Showcase is great too.

Welcome aboard! I'm sure you'll want to stick to wdwmagic.

Also, while not a lot of socializing involved, there is parasailing, boating, Richard Petty's race car driving, and at The Living Seas there is scuba diving and snorkeling! All things I can't wait to do at WDW over the coming years! :)

First Off Welcome. This is great site.
Adult "like" stuff (not completely)
1. restaurants, restaurants, restaurants and the resorts that house them. Just visiting the resorts themselves and strolling the grounds and having dinner at the slower pace more upscale restaurants is great. Boardwalk, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge. Try the restaurants there.
2. Backstage tour. Can add $$$ But that big all encompassing tour is great.
3. Diamond horseshoe at MK sometimes has more adult entertainment
4. House of Blues
5. Shopping at Downtown disney
6. Golf
7. Motorboats or watermice from resorts I think they are called
8. Adventurers Club at Pleasure island is knd of a Cabaret
9. Polynesian Resort Luau
10. Find cast members to chat with.
11. Dancing at the Boardwalk Resort
12. Check out all live entertainment at all the parks. Epcot can have some great acts.

Forgot the Best

The Spa at the Grand Floridian. Get a massage, sit in the jacuzzi, get a facial. Did all of those, felt very adult and pretty pretty, pretty relaxed after that.

Not old, just vintage.
Hi!!! Welcome to the boards! You will love it here. A very fun crowd.

As to your question: There's plenty of fun adult things to do in WDW. My personal favorite is to drink my way around World Showcase. Grab a beer in each country, just don't forget to eat something too. It's not cool to get all sloshed in WDW and run over small children. PI is still fun too. Usually when we go we just wander around from club to club. The Comedy Warehouse is also good adult fun.
