My First Disneyland Trip (w/ pics!)

Great report. Now I am kicking myself. Early last year, I was on business in the Ontario area for 3 days. I did make it to the beach to say I have put my foot into the Pacific and even hit Rodeo Drive, but I should have made time to see Disneyland. I even had business one day in the Torrance area.

Oh well, maybe next time.

Wow Vince, fantastic trip report, probably one of the best i've seen, the amount of detail you go into is amazing, like Jer said, you should be a writer :D

I went to DL at Christmas 2002, and loved it. I think DL is under-rated, especially by WDW fans. Sounds like you had an amazing time

It really is under-rated by WDW fans. Those who haven't been to Disneyland really don't know what you're missing. To say it's worth checking out is an understatement. Disneyland is almost every bit as magical as Walt Disney World. :)

It'll be even more magical when you get to see our castle. It's not the size that matters... :animwink:

And the good think is you don't have to wait in line to look at it  :p . Or maybe you do, but California style.
I kid. :)

Vince, your attention to detail is slipping. Not once did you describe the magical experience of going tinkle in Disneyland. Seriously, give us our money's worth. :lookaroun

Bad things apparently happen while I go tinkle. :lookaroun

Amazing trip report! Thanks so much for sharing such an in-depth report of your trip. I really have a lot of respect for people who can really see and enjoy the magic that a lot of us take for granted anymore. I'm going out to DL in September, thanks to your report I'm going to try and catch a princess storytelling and maybe see Imagine from the station. It sounds like fun. lol I'm going to apply for a job while I'm there. Also, where did you get the lemonade from? Was it a cart or what? You really should be a writer with your attention to detail. Thank you again!

Imagine won't be running by the time you get here. It's scheduled to end for good on Labor Day. :( I've gotten really attatched to that show...

Say it isn't so, Kirsten...say it isn't so...

Any idea what's going in it's place? Or are they not running a fireworks show?

No fireworks show at all, until at least Nov (if they actually do run holiday Believe). :(

You've got ravens falling from the sky when you sing...I don't want to know what happens when you tinkle.....

:lookaroun

All kidding aside though, excellent trip report Vince...er...was it Prince or Captain Vincent? :p

Glad you had a great time!

You watched Aladdin without me? *sobs* Ah, well, it wasn't Alex or HNA that I missed, at least. :p The carpet doesn't work occasionally, for various reasons. It was gone from the show for a lone time last fall. I actually have video of the show when it wasn't working. And now you see why I hate watching the show without Alex or George as Aladdin: it all tends to fall apart. :p

Kirsten...you're fixation on Aladdin is as healthy as Vince's obsession with Ariel....its amazing that you know the actual names of the actors who play Aladdin (now thats what I call devotion)... :p

But since we're on the subject....the Aladdin show is in the Hyperion Theater right?

:)

Unhealthy obsessions are my specialty! (I just got through spending 2 days reading Farscape fanfic... :hammer: ) There's one Aladdin whose name I don't know, and that's the guy who always screws up, that Vince and Adam saw. :p

Yup, Aladdin is in the Hyperion... for a theme park theater, it's a NICE one, too!

I am healthy! Hmph! *adjusts his seashells* :animwink:

Disneydewald, you can get frozen lemonade from carts all over Disneyland. :)

Vince dahling I loved your trip report!! How the heck did I miss it the first time?? You did a really great job of capturing the spirit of your trip. I think the scene with you and Adam shoved into the Astro Orbiter was hilarious. It's a bit of justice to see two thin people shoved in one car.

And I think it's a close race to see who is more obsessed with a Disney character. You, with Ariel, or Kirsten, with Aladdin. But I bet I could outdo you both with my love, platonic of course, for Pocohantas.

Thanks! I actually have a pic of us crammed in Astro Orbiter. Dunno if I should post it though, there's a lot of pain on my face.
