Trip Report My Buddy and Me!

Once again, it's your favorite trip reporters favorite trip reporter... And I am heading down to the swamps for a visit!

When: T-Minus 48 hours

Where: TBD - Possibly YC, WL, BW, or a mix.

Who: Myself

1088520355_HIGH.jpg

Also joining me: my friend who's nickname is Monster so I shall refer to him as J Monster (I don't have a pic of him to share) and of course I am bringing a dog! Ya, I know the dogs are the highlight of my TRs now! So don't worry, I got your back! There will be a dog. And this will be a dog you haven't seen/met yet!

Say hello to Mr Bailey!

Screenshot_20240227_143909_Messages.jpg

I will be dragging him around the parks and doing horrible things such as exposing him to weather and crowds, all for social media clout! JK. I only say that because some people may not understand exactly what a working/service K9 goes through for training to be able to mitigate any situation for its handler/human. I will be doing lots of training with Bailey to acclimate him to the hectic environment that is WDW!

Bailey is a Labrador. He is training to assist a young human with a visual impairment. J Monster is that young humans father which is why he is joining me. This trip was decided this past weekend, hence the suddenness of this PTR.

Also, it's J Monsters first trip ever to WDW! Boy oh boy did he pick a good tour guide for the parks... aka Me! Don't worry, he enjoys beer! He and his wife have wanted to visit with their kids and they know we visit a lot. So last weekend over dinner and drinks we decided that I will take Bailey to train and J Monster can join me to learn all about the parks and resorts before their first visit.

Details to come soon!

For anybody who has not read some of my prior trip reports, I am a dog trainer.

Saturday continued:

After a mid day break at the room we headed over to Epcot

20240302_172715.jpg

J wanted to try Mission Space. I told him about the different intensity levels and he decided with the more intense experience. Bailey opted for a simple photo

Time for a spin!

20240302_175617.jpg

We both manged to hold down our lunch!

We retrieved Bailey from the kennel afterwards.

20240302_180201.jpg

FYI, Bailey was in a clean kennel. I had just flipped the card over and took the pic to send to Baileys mom (Js wofe) who had asked if they cleaned the kennels out between dogs. Just had to mess with her a little lol

We headed over to Test Track next.
How bout some backstage passes??? I love that idea!

After the ride, Bailey had another A+ report card from the kennel CM

20240302_182154.jpg

The CM was sooooo excited to be able to pet Bailey and get a pic with him. She was very sweet.

We stopped for photopass pic with Grewt

So I am curious: how much have you talked to the CMs on rides where Bailey can’t ride with you? Is taking care of animals their "full time" task or do they cycle through other jobs/tasks? (My 18 yo has finally identified that she wants to be an animal caregiver (loose translation) and since apprenticeships in this field are difficult to find here, I keep telling her she needs to think a bit outside the box in order to find something.)

Sorry I never replied to this. Marie is doing PPIEW! She just got spayed before I left. Squish was Spayed the week prior. Neither cared to wear a cone so we got the kitten onesies and oh my word are they ADORABLE

Thank you for the adorable photos. Since we haven’t got any cats now it’s lovely to see updates on cats we know of. Mind you we have our neighbours cats visit us every day and make themselves at home 😊

From what I've seen and experienced, there is not a specific CM for the kennel. Depending on the attraction, one of the CMs at the entrance of attraction will escort me to the kennel room, or I wait in line and there will be a certain point where you go backstage to the kennel and there will be a CM waiting on you.

It seems that whichever CM happens to be in that area on their rotation, they will watch the dog. I've had some fun moments where the CMs will debate (in a fun way) which one of them gets to watch the dog. Each attraction has a different set up.

I would recommend for your 18 year old, that they start by either working at a doggy day care, dog walker, or as vet tech assistant. These are great ways to be around animals and care for them and they can figure out which field they'd want to pursue!

Please pardon the delay on this report. I have a valid reason though...

There are 4 kittens total. Momma is doing well. So well in fact, it's the reason I don't have any really close up pics of them as she is extremely protective of them.

Shes still affectionate with us, she's just not allowing us to pick them up.

TR update? Negative. But it is a Kitten update! Now that their eyes are open amd moving around, momma is slightly less protective and I'm able to finally get some pictures without getting my face ripped off

2 of the three black kittens appear to have light grey stripes. C and I go back and forth on whether it's just separation of their fur or if they are actually stripped. They are still so tiny it's hard to tell.

Actual TR update in progress.

TR continued...

We had been at Epcot and just rode TT

1345426091_HIGH.jpg

After TT we strolled through World Showcase and had a few drinks on our way towards the International Gateway to get to our dining reservation.

I've stayed at YC/BC and BW many times over the years and I've eaten at pretty much everywhere there with the exception of one place, Beaches and Cream!

It had popped up earlier in the day on the app and I snagged the reservation.

20240302_220056.jpg

Started off with some drinks. Then the sirens went off for the kitchen sink skit to begin. I had heard off it but never seen it. Quite a hoot to finally witness it. We didn't know what everybody hollered our the first time we heard the whole crowd say "a whole can"?!! But after the second time it happened, we figured it out.

We got the loaded tots to munch on

20240302_220854.jpg

A few more kitchen sinks had been ordered and by now we were pros with our "a whole can"!! It was rally fun.

Bailey was fast asleep umder the table and didnt care about all the ice cream action happening above

20240302_225038.jpg

We each got the patty melt. Very good IMO

20240302_220843.jpg

After B&C we stopped by Ale and Compass to continue our role as the gay couple at the bar with a dog! We just ordered one beer each but the waiter brought over a third when he didn't realize both drinks had already been delivered. He stayed and chatted with J for quite awhile. This gave me lots of ammunition to use for jokes against J that the bartender was flirting with him.
20240302_230221.jpg

Bailey was awake and ready for the lady in the robe to find us! Lol

Sunday...

We had a good night's rest, especially after the free beer that J's secret bartender lover gave us (secret bartender lover was a phrase I would use heavily throughout the day lol)

We were back at Epcot to start the day. We started off with some food as we figured we would be drinking soon and would need some sustenance. J got the chicken and waffles and I ordered the cauliflower/veggie plate

20240303_112805.jpg

20240303_112808.jpg

When J picked up his order of chicken and waffles, the guy gave him two orders of it. J said that he only ordered one, but the guy told him it was ok and just take the extra order.

J immediately looked at me as he knew the jokes were about to begin. Now he had two secret lovers! Jokes aside, he was kind enough to share the extra plate.

20240303_112802.jpg

Both dishes were very good! This was at the Honey Bee-Stro booth.

There was a wall I thought you'd measure your height in bees. Bailey was appx 50 bees tall! I don't think it was a measuring wall, but I made it one anyway

Sunday...

First attraction was Living With The Land. J has a landscaping business and he was excited to ride and see what it was about.

Bailey seriously enjoyed the ride.

We headed over to TT next. I sent this pic to @Tuvalu thinking I was cool and asked if she had ever been "backstage" at Test Track.

20240303_124512.jpg

She responded to tell me that not only has she been backstage but she also one-upped me and asked if i had ever been in the GM Lounge above the ride, which I have not.

I should have known better than to try and show off to Big T! I went out to face the world again, wiser.

We had a great spin around the track.

Next up was our VQ for Cosmic Rewind!

Dropped Bailey off at the kennel. They need to step up their kennel card game!

20240303_134801.jpg

We had a great ride. J absolutely loved it. I asked of he preferred Tron or Cosmic Rewind now that he had ridden both. This was a long discussion with lots of pros and cons. We picked up Bailey who got another great report card.

20240303_134914.jpg

After much discussion, J decided Cosmic Rewind was better.

Quick restroom break at Creations and Bailey fell asleep lol

Sunday...

After Cosmic Rewind we hit up Spaceship Earth.

20240303_140029.jpg

And for a brief time...Bailey was amongst it's passengers!

20240303_140737.jpg

But he wasn't very comfortable lol

20240303_140747.jpg

His face is just saying what the eff are we doing!!

The ride slowed down near the descent and I snapped a pic of the old space station!

20240303_142111.jpg

After the ride it was time for a snack!

20240303_144342.jpg

20240303_144437.jpg

These were at the booth near Mexico. Food was decent, beer was good. J did not get secret lover extra servings this time.
