It's impossible not to imagine epic productions like Miss Saigon or Lês Mis using this kind of technology.
There were plenty of times the simple turntable in Les Mis would break down and they'd switch to B mode.

I can't imagine how they expect this all to work consistently. Imagine the tower stops right in front of your seat and they can't move it.

Tho, it'd make a nice upgrade to Carousel of Progress!!

Fair point. Automation still needs to improve a lot... Last time I went to Bourne, the show stopped during the Morocco scene, because the tower didn't work properly. A TM spoke to the audience for 10 minutes, telling many interesting facts about the show, while they were solving the problem. For me it was interesting, it ruined the experience for my wife tough.

Has anyone in NYC had the opportunity to witness Emmursive's new play yet?

I saw it. It’s good but if you saw Sleep No More, it’s more of the same. Lots of walking.

Good to know. I've been at SNM, but I had the impression that this new show was more about dance/intimacy, less walking/run and get lost (just a feeling I had watching some trailers).
Thank you, Buddy.

I'm so very excited that I'm seeing The Lion King musical in a neighboring state this coming week. The last time I saw it, the character of Scar was so totally amazing. He came from the Broadway production in NYC. And someone I know has a friend who is singing in the musical Mamma Mia in the touring production coming next year. And, I just read on the web that Amanda Seyfried (what a totally amazing voice she has and she was oh so great in the original Mamma Mia) is working on a broadway production coming soon. I sang in the choir in college, and always wished I could sing on broadway. I've been fortunate enough to see many a broadway play in my life, it has been a totally memorable and wonderful experience seeing each broadway play that I have seen!

I finally saw Chicago last night (touring company) after years of listening to the film soundtrack, thought "I'm sure WDWMagic has a musical thread!", and found nothing. So, here it is, the thread for people like me who have way too many soundtracks to count.

Some favorites of mine-
ALW- Phantom of the Opera
Sondheim- Company
Rodgers and Hammerstein- South Pacific
Loerner & Lowe- My Fair Lady
Kander & Ebb- Chicago
New musical- Hamilton
Off-Broadway- Heathers
Disney live action movie- Mary Poppins
Disney animated- Hunchback of Notre Dame
Online- "A Very Potter Musical" and "Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier" (both are by Team Starkid, highly recommend both of them if you like Harry Potter or Disney)
Guilty pleasure- Mamma Mia! (Saw it in NYC about 10 years ago, left with a smile on my face and a dance in my feet)
First Broadway musical I saw- Beauty and the Beast

I'm seeing Something Rotten next month, and I'm really excited for it.
I saw Chicago years ago in the West End Of London. It was pretty increbible. So happy you enjoyed it!

One of my favorites that I've ever seen is the wedding singer touring adaptation from the movie. That was such a great and fun play to see. I absolutely loved the movie from the 80s! Beauty and the beast was such a wonderful play also. I really enjoyed the rose effect that illusionist Jim Steinmeyer fabricated for this play. It was oh so very cool. He also designed illusions for the likes of David Copperfield, Siegfried and Roy, and Lance Burton. I've seen all three in Vegas. I wanted to see Penn & Teller in Vegas, but have not had the opportunity to as of yet. I love magic! I also heard that they're having a new Now You See Me coming out in the near future too. I really have enjoyed that series as well!

Just realized this is an old thread, and you're not probably on here anymore. Maybe you are. When I went to Kauai, I had lunch at the Hanalei Pier where South Pacific was filmed. So amazing. I thought that the Mary Poppins set was so amazing with how wonderful the set was that it opened up like a doll house. So amazing! And so very clever.
