I particularly liked the clip about the seven-year creation of Hamilton. Although it's good to see new stage versions of the old classics (King & I), it's also refreshing to see original works (Hamilton) take off like this, and turn into the hottest ticket on Broadway.

FUN HOME opened on Broadway and received rave reviews. It is the front runner for the Tony Award in many categories. Here is "Ring of Keys" as performed at last year's Drama Desk Awards, when this was off-Broadway:

Here is an extended preview of FINDING NEVERLAND, which opened last week in NYC. It did not get the best reviews, but it is doing very well at the box office.

Something Rotten opens on Broadway tonight. So far, it is getting very good reviews, but still waiting for the crucial Times review. In the meantime, here are some clips from the musical:

The great Chita Rivera stars in THE VISIT, Kander and Ebb's final musical, opening tomorrow night at the Lyceum Theatre on Broadway. Here is Chita singing Love and Love Alone, and dancing with her younger self:

More video from Fun Home - now on Broadway - arguably the best reviewed musical of the season - ps - the video say through January 12 only, but that is from the off Broadway run - it has now transferred to Broadway:

Sorry to be repetitive (too late) but here is one more clip from FUN HOME - one of the most important and beautiful musicals to come to Broadway in a long time:

You're lucky to live in N.Y. and be so close to so many theaters. It must be difficult to choose which show to see, especially with the ticket prices. I know that the TKTS booth in Times Square is a good source for 1/2 price tickets on the day of the shows, as long as you don't mind not getting the best seats in the theater.

I have to admit that I work in this business so I am extremely, extremely lucky to get a fair number of complimentary tickets. However, when I have to pay, I always try to use a discount code instead of TKTS, because with a code, you can select your own seats. If anyone is planning a NYC trip and needs a discount code to anything, let me know and I'll send it to you if it exists. Obviously there are no codes for the sold out hits like Book of Mormon, Wicked, etc.

I'm honestly hoping that Something Rotten! takes home the Best Musical award. It looks like a real hilarious show, and it's directed by Casey Nicholaw, who directed two other Best Musical winners: Spamalot and The Book of Mormon.

But if that doesn't win, my next bet would be on Fun Home. I honestly love the story behind the musical. As Alison puts it herself "My dad and I were nothing alike...but my dad and I were the same."

Wish I had seen this post before I bought some tickets! lol. But I agree about using codes instead of TKTS. Saves you time waiting in line when you get there too.

Bumping the thread...

An interesting thing is gonna happen to me today. I am currently taking classes at a local college, not too far away from where I performed musicals in high school. Just today, the director of musicals there asked me if I was willing to play a bit role in this year's musical: Carousel. I also plan to play in the pit (I'm a skilled xylophonist).

Also, in November, I'm gonna add a fourth show to the "Shows I've Seen" list, cause...(singing) "I'm gonna see 'The Producers'!"

If you don't get the joke, listen to this...

UPDATE: I will be playing the role of David Bascombe, the owner of the mill.
