Music played on buses from park to resort

This, if anyone has the banjo/bayou track they play on the POFQ buses...I would love to have it...Nothing more relaxing after a long day at the park then getting on the bus...the lights go out...and the crickets start chirping and the banjo is playing...then when you get out at the resort...you feel like you are at in NOLA.

If I'm not mistaken, it's the same music as from the POR busses (which are usually the same busses except in exceptionally busy times). There are actually 2 banjo songs I'm aware of. One is "Please, Baby" by Rev. Gary Davis (which, IMO, sounds like a banjo rendition of the Cruella DeVil song). You can find the song on iTunes. This is the song that they play on the way back to the resort after a long day at the park.

Going from POR/POFQ to the parks, you'll hear another more lively banjo tune. I have that tune in my head, but I have no idea what the name of it is or who performs it. I've wasted countless hours trying to find it, but no luck. So...if anyone knows what the livelier banjo tune is that plays on the POR/POFQ-to-parks busses, let me know.

Thank you! :) We've only stayed at POR once, and when I played it for my husband, he knew it right away.

I'd love to know the going to the park music. :D

When did they start doing resort-specific bus music?
I don't remember their doing this back in the '90s or early '00s.
It's really such a nice touch.

Yeah, I could be wrong, but skip to 1 minute in.

Pretty sure it's a segment of Gateway by Nakai. Hard to tell with the Disney announcements, but...maybe if you listen you can tell me if that's right?

That's exactly it!

I found another artist, William Hoshal, who worked as a composer for Disney and has an album of very similar pacific-northwest native american music (quite specific and a match to the theme of Wilderness Lodge). Last night I was thinking "Mesa Pine" would be it, so I bought the track but no match. The Nakai song is available on iTunes too. Thanks, @englanddg!

Glad to help. Nakai is one of my odd shelf CDs. :p That song is from the late 80s / early 90s, as I recall. We used his CD for various things when I was in Boy Scouts, and my Dad dubbed a Philmont tape to some of his tracks as well.

I absolutely love the Disney bus music and how it changes per location that you're headed. It's such a subtle detail that probably only a small percentage of people notice. One time I heard a song from Wicked playing in the all star music bus! I was so excited that they acknowledged the Broadway part of the resort

If the Magic Kingdom celebrates it's 50th Anniversary in 2021. I hope they might add a modern remix of the original theme song for Walt Disney World called "Disney World Is You're World" when you head near the Magic Kingdom entrance.

So true.
And for those of us that do notice, it's yet another small thing that drives us to return to WDW again and again.

It's also a reason I'll never rent a car at the 'World'. lol

I remember when we were staying at Pop Century-whenever we'd take the bus to Magic Kingdom, they'd always play No Doubt's Excuse Me Mister. It was hilariously out of place.

Hmm, guess I have to hold back my comment, I was going to say how annoying that music can get. But it certainly is unique. Maybe see if there is a playlist for it on Spotify (streaming music service, there are free and paid versions, free just has a few ads, no big deal). They have a lot of playlists on there for pretty much everything (except Taylor Swift, she pulled her catalog from it), so you may have a good chance on there.

Register on WDWMAGIC. This sidebar will go away, and you'll see fewer ads.
