Muppet Vision 4-D will be closing, but not for good. The attraction will refurbished sometime in the nere future. While on the studio backlot tour (this was durring april) the guide told us this, and you could see some of the props for it while going through the wardrobe department. The props, including others were 2 giant kermit statues in black tuxedoes somewhat resembling Academy Award statues................

As of right now i have not heard anything about Muppetvision being closed or rehabbed. So for now it is open and will stay open until announced.

Aren't those giant kermits in black tuxedoes the 2 statues as you enter the muppets store? The are located as you leave muppet vision. I was just there yesterday, and I took a picture by it.

Also.....regarding the closure, i hope it doesnt....this is one of my favs too, however, the lineup was DEAD, and the movie ran to an empty house......i practically picked where i wanted to sit.

I don't see it happening....they've put a lot of time and money into the attraction...plus it's really the only thing in that part of the park (NY St.) to see.

When I went in early June there was like 15 people in the theater. It was actually kind of wierd because it was so quiet and empty. I remember when that place would be packed and you'd have to move alllll the way down the aisle.

I saw the show in early August, there was no line at all. And not many people there. There were rows that were not close to being full. But it was still open.

My parents and I just got back from Disney yesterday, and both times we saw MuppetVision, it was with a fairly large crowd. The theater was almost full.

I've never been on the muppets when we didn't have to wait in a l-o-n-g line. This change in attendance must have been fairly recent because everytime I've seen it, I've been joined by a pleased, full-house!

Please don't mess with it! Can't Disney leave ONE thing alone??

When I saw the Muppets in mid-July, the theater was full. IMHO, this is the single funniest attraction in WDW. I would hate to see anything other than minor tinkering done to it.

I agree with the other comments here. I don't mind a few minor changes but definitely keep it! I think everything Muppets rock! I love all the movies and TV shows and the attraction is a great extension of those. :D

During our trip to WDW in Jan '02, the Muppets were drawing enough people to fill over half the theatre, and this was during the extremely slow season. I would guess that the Muppets will stay put for awhile. Heck, Disney was attempting another Muppet purchase earlier in the year (any word on that?). Original Muppet plans for DisneyMGM (before Jim Hensons death) included a whole Muppet studio tour ride, much like the Great Movie Ride. When Henson died and the purchase fell through, all those plans were shelved. If the Muppets are still for sale, I'm sure that Disney is just waiting for the price to drop. Then and if Disney does acquire them, maybe all those earlier Muppet themed attractions will get the green light. Sure would be a shot in the arm for Disney, considering all the "Pooh" they're currently in.

I think they should update the attraction to include some of the new muppet characters...like PePe, the prawn! :sohappy:

When I was there in the end of July and in June, the Muppets had a pretty good attendents(the theather was almost full) but no wait. (We just walked in and watched the pre show and one time we got there right at the end of the preshow and ran right into the theather)
