MuppetVision 3-D - upgrade

When I saw it in March (I was in DHS on March 29th) both the Bubbles and the Fireworks were indeed working.

I hope the switch to Digital 3D doesn't mess with the show too much. I've noticed that most Digital 3D movies aren't as good as 3D movies in theme parks.

If they upgrade the preshow area as a 'show' and make the viewing experience and theming even better than ever I will be ok with it but please Disney, don't be toying with the preshow's media. The stuff created is some of the best Henson, and some of the best content in any theme park or anywhere in comedy. Timeless too.

It's the only 3D movie I can stand. I prefer it over HISTA, EO, and even non-theme park 3D movies like Avatar! 3D movies tend to give me headaches and I have a hard time focusing on the images in front of me. MuppetVision is the only one that I can seem to tolerate.

I'm the opposite, I love 3D movies and attractions and never get headaches (even watching Avatar), however the 3D at Muppets seems to be off. That show does give me a headache because the 3D seems to blur. I guess people have different tolerances and the exist on two ends of the spectrum.

It's a short closure but I believe this is for the new preshow and the digital projection.

I knew I had read something about this. From MousePlanet:

…Reportedly, the MuppetVision theater refurbishment will include complete replacement of the carpet and restoration of in-theater effects. Now, if only they'd do some restoration work on the film.…

Nervous about the preshow change, but I'm very excited about everything else. MV3D is BY FAR the best 3D show at WDW, IMO and I'm glad it's getting some TLC.

Well this sucks. A lot.

For all we know, they're just swapping out the regular TVs for LCDs...

Maybe they'll bring the countdown-timer/message-board back to the front of the pre-show room.

Or what if they put some kind of "randomizer" that swapped out certain parts of the pre-show videos for new bits? Sure, they'd keep the classic ones there, but some of the "segue" segments could change, so you have to visit multiple times to see all the clips? Could even come up with a new promo tagline..."MV3D:2... Never the same gags twice"... ;)
Kermit doesn't appear in the pre-show, and I think most/all of the other original voice talent is still available, so it wouldn't be too noticeable that it's different.

It will be a sad day in my family when they change either the film or the pre-show. We are big Henson fans. My mom always said she had kids so she'd have an excuse to watch Sesame Street  If they could keep the film and get rid of Waldo, that would be awesome. He's horrible. But the pre-show is Muppet comedy gold and just shouldn't be touched. "WOOAAAH Jeff Jeff stop Jeff!!"

Two of the biggies wouldn't be in it. Richard Hunt died shortly after Jim Henson, and I doubt Frank Oz would come back.

I look forward to seeing what the refurb does for the attraction. I love MV3D. One of the funniest things at WDW, IMO.

That would be awesome! I just hope the pre show in its current state doesn't get too heavily altered. I like it just about as much as the actual show!
