What's the size of Hall of Presidents compared to Voyage of the Little Mermaid show? And would a show based on Disney's Legend of Sleepy Hollow story done in a similar fashion work in the HoP showbuilding. Or (armchair dreams crushed) is Legend of Sleepy Hollow just too scary for today's Magic Kingdom? Meh. Back to your regularly scheduled Muppet ramblings.

Looking at the editorial, maybe Disney could skip another show and imagineer Mr. Toad's Wild Ride Through American History for the space (let's just ignore "The Wind in the Willows" was set in England by a Scottish author; I'm confident the general public would).

I don't think that means anything at all. The new president will obviously be in the attraction, but that does not mean that the show can't be changed from its current format.

Why are you so persistent on this? It's like you're adding 2 and 2 and getting 5. The Muppets crew put up a vague tweet. Everyone immediately jumped on the HOP bandwagon. How? We found out that The Muppet Show--all five seasons--is coming to Disney+. But you seem adamant about this. I still say the thread title is misleading until you put a "Rumor" in front of it. Otherwise, it's not true at all.

Edit: I now see "Rumor" in front. Thank you.

The tweet had nothing to do with the Hall of Presidents rumor. The OP was speculating that it might be connected, but very specifically said he had no idea if the tweets were connected to what he'd heard.

You seem to think someone took the tweet and used that as a basis for the HOP rumor, which is not what happened. They were unrelated.

However, the fact that they are putting the Muppets Show on Disney+ -- which means they went to the effort to deal with the rights issues that had blocked it from even being sold for years -- does indicate they may be interested in upping their presence. That certainly doesn't mean they're going in the Hall of Presidents, but there has been nothing yet to discredit this rumor.

You're still missing the sequence of events.

"I’ve also been told by multiple sources that something is happening here, so I fully expect it. "

It's called closing HOP for refurbishment because we have a new President. But somehow the OP gets Muppets out of it? BTW, no other blog, as far as I can tell, are talking about linking Muppets to HOP.

You seem to have the wrong end of the stick with this. Read the original post. The Twitter post was not the basis of this rumor.

Why do you think he came up with the Muppets out of thin air? He was clearly indicating that people told him the Muppets were potentially coming to the HoP, not that the HoP was just closing for refurb. Everyone knew that was happening because they have to add a new President.

It also seems like most (not all) other blogs just steal their rumors from here, so that doesn't mean much to me.

I'm certainly not saying I 100% believe this is going to happen. I just think a lot of people on this thread completely misread the original rumor and that's why you and others seem to think the Muppets announcement proved this was false when they were not actually connected.

If you go back through 25 years of this site there were frequently times when "no other blog" was talking about things we were - and that was because the info originated here.

Okay, I read it. The OP, whoever that is. A CM? An insider? Says out of the blue that The Muppets are coming to HOP. Then links the Twitter post. The obvious activity at this time is closing HOP to insert Biden.

I don't know why you are continuing to argue this. I suggest if you have no interest in this you stay out of the thread. The rest of us can continue to talk about what may happen and consider what has been said in the original post, that as I have said is not without merit.

Great Gatsby going into the public domain at the start of the month immediately caused the Muppets to trend huge on Twitter because people wanted Muppet Great Gatsby, not to mention people wanting more Muppet adaptations of things in general. Obviously it'd be nice if they could do original material, but the general consumer sentiment towards the Muppets seems to be that Disney doesn't use them enough or that the stuff they have been doing just seems to be throwing things at the wall trying to get them to stick.
Muppet Great Gatsby? I can't wait to see Janice escape from her abusive husband Rowlf, running out to the street only to be killed by Miss Piggy behind the wheel of the Electric Mayhem bus.

At least we'll finally know that the green light was Kermit all along.

Sleepy hollow is more suited for a ride than a show.

Whoa!!! So you like puppets.... just not the muppets? This an interesting development!

I watched a lot of stuff as a kid I wouldn't watch today...unlike some folk. ;)

Holy sheetrock.

So instead of expecting park guests to act like grownups, Disney is supposed to cater to the "feels" of the immature and intellectually inadequate and close the attraction?

The park guests have the option of skipping the attraction if robot presidents offend them so much. Let the rest of us enjoy a moving tribute to American history.

I'm telling you, at this rate, the eventual blowback against cancel culture is going to be epic. I can't wait!

And for someone who’s biggest shtick is *****ing on anything muppets related on this site every possible time he can... That just seems very hypocritical. 😂

The Hall of Presidents is based on Walt's Lincoln attraction in Disneyland. It's 100% Disney and belongs in any Disney park.

The Muppets are an ill-considered acquisition that don't belong in ANY Disney park in my view. They've been kicked out of Disneyland with nary a tear shed, they have no presence in any other Disney parks around the world, and again, when Eisner at an earlier time suggested that the Muppets replace the Lincoln attraction in Disneyland, the public outcry forced him to drop the idea. Those folks got it. ;)

Other way around. Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln is based on what was then called One Nation Under God, a show featuring all of the presidents. Nobody would commit to sponsoring the show but Illinois was willing to sponsor a smaller scale show just focused on Lincoln.
