MSEP Floats have arrived ?!

Hi !

I was told that the MSEP floats have arrived at WDW recently. They are stored there, however on float seems to have burnt during the trip, "Pleasure island" unit.
Some parts are too missing on the "Snow White" unit.

I was told that the MSEP would replace Spectromagic by the end of 2009. Is that true?

So theses floats must be those coming from Hong Kong, who were before at DLP and WDW before.

Anyone have more information ?

Thanx

As much as I enjoy Spectro I would love to see the train of the MSEP coming down Main Street with Goofy driving once again.

As awesome as the Electrical Parade is, and as much as I'd like to see it come back, why would they bring it back when it's already been there?
Not saying they aren't, it just doesn't make sense to me.

Spectro is MSEP 2.0, and Spectro is a great parade. But in this case, I prefer the original. The music and the simplicity of it, not to mention the nostalgia, just work for me.

I would make a special trip to see MSEP, but not Spectro.

Same here...always had a serious appreciation and enthusiasim for the original MSEP music and units over the updated Spectro Parade.

I say bring it back...nosalgia rules!

Of course...it WOULD be cool to see a ALL NEW nighttime parade....but MSEP rocks and will always be welcome. Classics never get old!

:sohappy:

( Here's hoping the original is rolled though the Park at least once in the future...)

I know I'm going to make some people angry with this remark, but why can't WDI come up with a NEW nighttime parade instead of just bringing back a parade that's been around for years? I would rather see an all new parade, one that perhaps combines the best of Spectro and MSEP along with completely new designs from recent movies/characters, as opposed to an old parade that, while slightly refreshed around 2000, was designed in the 1970's.

Now, I've never seen the MSEP, so it doesn't carry any sentimental value for me, and while I think Spectro is a great parade, I still wouldn't shed any tears if it went, especially if it meant a fresh, new parade was coming in its place. I know we all grow fond of particular shows/atractions/parades (I personally will find it VERY difficult to say good bye to Reflections of Earth when it goes), but at the same time, change must come, and I would prefer to see something new come to the parks as opposed to something that's already been around for decades. Just my two cents.

If attendance starts to go down, due to the economy. Count on seeing the MSEP "Return" as a "Once in a lifetime event" that you must come see.

Count on it!

While the MSEP is classic and provided a great jumping-off point for future projects, I agree that it is really time for an impressive new nighttime parade. Spectromagic is nearly 20 years old now, and it's never had much of an update minus the make-up on the faces of the freaky clowns last year.

We got a new parade for the 20th anniversary, maybe they are working on a new one for the 40th? Here's hoping.

I was at DL during the "Last summer/fall of MSEP" at Disneyland Park, and my goodness were the crowds unbelievable. It was absolutely packed in like sardines along the entire parade route. And then they brought it back to DCA three years later!

I hate to burst your bubbles here, but the MSEP units have been in central shops for quite some time now.

The reason MSEP came back in 2000 was because those were DLs units which were sent down to be repaired and updated for the return at DCA in 2001. The only facility large enough to handle this refurb was central shops. WDW figured while they had them they would run the parade.

The units at DL are the originals from DL. Hong Kong has yet to have this parade. WDWs are still in central shops.
