You might also think about getting the PAP if you think you'll be hitting the water parks. You only have to go a few times a year to make it worth the cost. I know that some get the Weekday Select or Seasonal Pass because they are cheaper, but they have blackout dates, and if we lived there, we would want the option to go any day of the year. Up to your budget really.
Definetly I will get the full pass. Last thing I want to do is constantly be checking for Blackout Dates.

Yesterday the Farmers Almanac reported an unusually rough winter in store for us again here in Maine. They were bragging about how their predictions of last year were better than the national weather forecasters. So enjoy Orlando and I'm sooo envious of your move as I'm dreading the next wintery weather to come. The leaves are already falling and its not even Sept yet.... How far is Lake Mary from WDW property ? What a wonderful gift to give your little kids, growing up around Disney. Enjoy and visit often.

Lake Mary is about 30 minutes away depending on traffic. Perfect distance.

Very!!!!!!!!!!! Excited...I'm moving to Lake Mary this weekend with my Wife and 3 little kids. For those of you who live in the area, how often do you visit the parks. When should I purchase the annual pass?

Congrats! I relocated to Lake Mary with my company in December from NJ so I understand your excitement! I have an Annual Pass and usually hit one of the parks for at least a few hours at some point on the weekend...mostly Saturday or Sunday mornings. Without traffic, it's a 30 minute drive from Lake Mary to WDW. Although "without traffic" doesn't happen a lot lol, hence the early morning visits. I AM a Potter fan though and also a Uni AP holder, so I do hit Uni on the weekends from time to time instead of a WDW park, which is 7 miles closer than WDW. In general, Lake Mary is a great place to live and work. Everything you could want is here (restaurants, stores, etc.) and it's just far enough outside of the touristy area where you don't feel like you're a part of that, but close enough to go at any time. Definitely reach out if you have any questions!

So very true. Don't forget that there is so much to see and do in that area. Oh, and I don't know if it still true, but back in the day, if you wanted to go to the beach, you never went to Daytona. We always went to New Smryna Beach. Much quieter without all the tourists.
Isn't New Smryna Beach where all the sharks nibble on the locals? :jawdrop:

Welcome to sunny Florida! We bought our PAP's not long after arriving as well. Hope to see you in the parks soon! The best part about being so close is not having to rush around trying to experience everything. You can slow down through the parks and take in more of the magic. Also gives excellent opportunities to check out the resorts. We usually try to eat at least one meal at a different resort when we go. Our trips are usually monthly, sometimes more than that. Enjoy!

You are so lucky! There is talk that my husband's job may get relocated to Tampa. Although it would be a huge life changer for my family, I would look forward to the move. APs would be one of the first things that I do. If his job doesn't get relocated, then I will just have to wait another 20 years for retirement to move down there. Good luck with your move and congrats!

Nice...I'd love to live in the area (within 50 miles).

Funny thing: We live about 900 miles away and had APs for many years. It made more sense than buying 9 or 10 day park hoppers 3-4 times/yr. Thinking about doing it again seeing how often we go. Problem is, you never know how often you'll go living that far away.

For you, you'll get your use out of it. Congrats!

I'm moving to Lake Mary this weekend, too! We are driving to NC now to visit family, then arriving at our new place on Saturday! Getting our APs this weekend Maybe we will see each other around the parks! Best wishes!
