Moving old Dumbo, or buying a new Dumbo?

Not what you asked, but I can confirm that the Little Mermaid ride at DCA has a special car (or more than one, maybe) that takes wheelchairs, so I'm sure that accomodation will exist in the WDW version as well.
Nemo at Epcot has (at least) one clam like this; since the vehicles and ride system are almost identical, I assume it will be like that. The CM slows the ride down when the special clam is almost at load and after some sliding, turning and unfolding, there is a ramp for a wheelchair.

There is only one ADA shell on Nemo. I don't know how many the other Omnimovers have, but I would imagine they would have more than one ADA vehicle on Little Mermaid given the park and location in it.

Buzz has one or two wheelchair cars, Mansion and Spaceship Earth are the only other Omnimovers in WDW, and neither have specific handicap vehicles.

I saw the wheelchair car on Nemo in action back in June. *Very* cool design. Of course there are some differences, because the Nemo cars do not have the rotation or pitch change that a regular Omnimover does. I'm sure it was much easier to design the wheelchair car for it. The Mermaid ones have to turn.

I have read a few articles about the dumbo move but I don't remember reading about the queue, I assume one queue to load both spinners? or Will they each have there own?

It will be a single non-queue that feeds both spinners. How exactly they execute this "next generation" queue-that-isn't-a-queue remains to be seen, but there are a few inferences that can be made from the tests they did at RnRC a year or two ago.

Yeah, I think it should be very similar to the RnRC test, with groups being called out. You get a group number/letter, play the games, and they call you and have you wait in a regular holding pen queue in those "arms" of the building one or two load cycles before your ride time. Probably about five minutes of actual standing around and waiting, I'd bet.

The activities in the Dumbo queue are one of the big question marks remaining about the FLE. I'm very excited to see what's inside, but I also hope the queue has plenty of benches.

And I bet those 5 minutes will be filled with some sort of entertainment such as a movie or animatronic show similar to Mr. Potato Head at Midway Mania

The concept art showed a lot of circus-tent bleachers.

I tried to find this on the forums, but I couldn't find the thread I remember reading....maybe someone else can dig it up, or maybe I just imagined reading it.

Dredging my memory, however, I remember someone saying that the Dumbo spinners will oppose each other -- one will go clockwise and the other will go counter-clockwise. Furthermore, I remember saying all Dumbos in the Disney themeparks go in the same direction, so this will be the first time that individual Dumbos will have to be manufactured in reverse (bolted to the spinner on the other side). So, to the OP's original question, it would be a maximum of 50% recycling, since the other spinner would require mirror-image Dumbos.

It appears that they are going in the same direction in the concept art.

Well, the water features are more a function of the base than the ride mechanism.

Plus, if I'm not mistaken, the current Dumbo *was* designed with a water feature in mind, because it was intended for Paris. But when it was installed in Florida the Utilidors underneath wouldn't allow it.

-Rob

Actually, the version intended for Paris went to Disneyland in California, which DOES have the water feature.

My understanding is that the two sides will be more or less identical.

I don't mind if they are identical I just hope they are enhanced. I hope they make the Dumbos have a little movement like Carpets has. Carpets is much better than Dumbo solely because of the Carpets being able to move about it's lateral axis.

I still wish that the ears would move up and down :(
