Movie Scenes That Frightened You The Most

This was the ONE scene that came to mind when I read the title of the thread.

Also, I believe it was Friday the 13th part II when the cat jumped in the window. Scares me every time LOL.

Also, in Signs...at the beginning when the dog barks at the little girl.

Also, the creepiness of the guy standing in the corner at the end of the Blair Witch Project was pretty weird.

Now, those are just "jumpy" scenes...but most disturbing/frightening I've seen is probably all 83 minutes of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The grainy film, the memorable sounds (the steel door slamming shut), to the shear horrific subject matter. It could happen to anybody... (and to top it off, the opening text saying that it was based on true events...even though it really wasn't a true story).

Found nothing creepy about the Blair witch project other than how it managed to become so talked hyped

I went to the theater during an early preview (before it hit actual theaters) and at the time, was before it came out that it was fake and it was all actors. It was one of the first "first-person-shot" movies to go mainstream.
So, in our heads, this was found footage. Just before opening night is when it came out that it was fake.

I haven't looked at that movie the same since.

So my girlfriend has been making me watch American Horror Story and the show is not living up to its name. The scariest thing in the show so far is the opening credits. And maybe Murder Santa. The rest of the show is just crazy for the sake of being crazy.

Friday the 13th (original) boy jumping out of the lake and grabbing our heroine out of the canoe

Exorcist...I was too young when I went to see this....final scene and exorcism was too much...

8 days until Halloween!
Here is another short story called Mama. (No, not the movie which came out recently). This couple minutes is actually much creepier. Skip to 0:50 for the story to begin.

Mama was on one of the HBOs last night and I had it on while making dinner. Nothing really scared me in it and the conclusion was just stupid. Movie was a waste of Jessica Chastain.

I'm still creeped out by Chuckie in Child's Play or the creepy clown that lived in the sewers (It).

This. No movie has scared me (and scarred me) quite so badly as IT. Even the book! I couldn't even read the book...I got about 1/2 of the way through it before the nightmares got so intense my Mom ripped the book from my stubborn teenage hands (yeaarrrss ago, haha!) and threw it away.

I can't. Do. Clowns.

Chuckie scared me when I was young, but that I'm older it doesn't. I missed all of the adult humor (yikes) the first time I saw it as a child, thankfully... lol

I didn't like that show. Nothing 'scary' about it.

I could barely get through the pilot. It honestly annoyed me and I refused to watch the rest of that season. A creepy kid getting killed followed by an hour weird perverted stuff and emo teen drama isn't horror. Jessica Lange was great, but everyone else... yeesh. I felt bad for Connie Britton having to be in such an awful show.

When season 2 started with a different story my gf convinced me to try again. The mental asylum wasn't scary either, but it seemed a lot more tongue in cheek and was willing to have some fun with itself. I could view it as a comedy and enjoy it that way. I mean it had aliens, mutants, a nun possessed by Satan, a Nazi doctor, horrible experiments on the mentally disabled, a serial killer, Anne Frank, Murder Santa, whatever the heck the guy from The Practice was doing, and a musical number. It was just so gloriously bad, it was entertaining.

Season 3 so far though went back to the annoying teen drama stuff... But there is several Academy Award nominees/winners saying the dumbest lines ever.

The awful remake make have ruined its name, but the end of the original The Wicker Man is truly horrifying. I won't spoil it, but the ending was like that I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke ad if everyone in that singing circle was a pagan.

Here's another short story called: Red Balloon. It kinda has a "When A Stranger Calls" feel to it.
