Mother-Daughter Trip with my soon-to-be 13 year old in June!

Just booked a 4 night trip with my oldest daughter, who is a huge Disney fan. We are lucky enough to have visited several times with our entire family in the past few years, but we really wanted a special, one-on-one trip, before she enters the full-on teen age years (although I'm fairly certain her love of Disney will continue, her time and activities will most likely get in the way of this kind of trip). I was curious if anybody has suggestions/ideas of things to do for this super-special mother-daughter adventure?

This will be our second trip. My daughter just turned 13. The last trip we made reservations at Narcoossee's and got all dressed up to go. She loved that. We also did the carriage ride one evening at port Orleans Riverside. This trip I made reservations for pirates and pals firework cruise. I know the party part is a little too childish but we will enjoy watching the little kids. I know we will both enjoy the fireworks. She also did the pick a pearl. I hope you have a great time. I love going with my daughter.

My daughter and I went on a mother/daughter trip last year and we are going again in April. We scheduled afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian for this trip as our special activity. The trip last year was our first trip to Disney World so that was special enough! Have fun!

High Tea at the Grand Floridian!!! Love it there. If you can, book on a Wednesday around 3pm for a special performance by the classical piano player in the GF lobby. On most Wednesdays he is joined by a lovely vocalist and they do Disney favorites and classic standards. A beautiful way to spend an afternoon!! Marie

The Gentleman's name is Wes and he is AMAZING!!! I am very into live music and Disney is a great place for it, with the sheer number and variety of acts that can be experienced. I forgot the name of the vocalist but she is just incredible. Clear vocals and beautiful tone. Have a scone with some clotted cream and lemon curd for me!!! Marie

I have had the privilege of going on several mom-daughter trips growing up. In fact, it's still one of my favorite ways to visit the World today. These trips were so valuable to my relationship with my mom. It's one reason why we are still so close.

As far as fun things to do, I encourage you to slow down this trip and have fun spending time together. Peruse the stores, grab an afternoon ice cream sundae, and take time to focus on your daughter.

I hope you have a wonderful time!

For ice cream, I strongly suggest Beaches & Cream!! It is a great ice cream parlor with a simple but great menu. It is located out the back gate of Epcot in between the Beach Club and Yacht Club resorts. Great for an afternoon break from EPCOT and can be reached with a reasonable walk, or if you are feeling leisurely, take the Friendship Boats over!!! Enjoy it!!! Marie

The tea is amazing! If she doesn't like tea- they serve chocolate milk in a teapot... and sandwiches for her... it is DELICIOUS! It all sounds fun!
Sounds delicious! Is it enough to serve as lunch, or is it more of a snack? We are doing a fancy dinner that night, per all of your fantastic suggestions. Don't know if we need a lunch reservation, too?
