Most Popular Attractions By Wait Time

I was curious about what rides in Disneyworld are the most popular by wait time. I've been 17 straight summers, and I think #1 is probably Soarin' over at Epcot. But Here's My Top 5 List:

1. Soarin' (Epcot)
2. Space Mountain (Magic Kingdom)
3. Splash Mountain (Magic Kingdom)
4. Kali River Rapids (Animal Kingdom)
5. Peter Pan's Flight (Magic Kingdom)

You can't judge popularity based on wait times. Every attraction has different throughput.

If you really want to judge by wait time it would have to be one of the fireworks shows. One show a day. That's a 24 hour wait time.

Granted I know you said what "ride". My example was to illustrate a point.

I think Everest is certainly a more popular ride than Kali is (as are, form what I've observed, other AK attractions.

I agree Soarin' is probably the most popular ride, but it's wait times are usually inflated because of how SLOW the thing takes to load. They move far fewer people through there in an hour, than say, Splash Mountain.

If I had to choose the 5 most popular attractions, they would be (in no particular order): Soarin, Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, and Everest.

Ditto. Just look at Spaceship Earth's ridership numbers. Most times of the year there is only a short wait.

Every time I go to Disney, Peter Pans Flight always has more then and hour wait.......I always get a fast pass for that.

Like other folks have pointed out, wait time isn't really an accurate measure of popularity, because efficiency and capacity vary between rides.

The most accurate measure of popularity, I would think, is the number of people a ride processes daily. I know at the end of the day on my CP, we would get a guest count from the day, but I'm guessing it would be extremely difficult if not impossible to get ahold of those numbers for every attraction.

Wait time does not judge a rides popularity it only measures the rides ability to shift guests according to its ride capacity. If you took 1000 people and timed how long it took to put them onto Soarin' (for example) it would be an awful lot faster than the same 1000 riding Dumbo.

Currently Everest for sure. That will change as new attractions are introduced in the years to come.

We have gone to Animal Kingdom in the morning to ride Everest and then head out to another park (usually MGM) to ride on TT and Rock and Roll Coaster. Thank goodness for park hopping. :)
